    Hey all,

I am booked in for Bally's on May 23 for 4 nights.

Other strip (or close to) properties I have stayed at are Villa Roma, Hilton and Flamingo - with Flamingo being the nicest.

I have stayed at the Flamingo 3 times (in an non renovated room, a Go Room and, and a fab room).

I choose Bally's over Flamingo because there was a huge price difference.

Right now the price is very comparable as the Flamingo has come down.

For those 4 nights we are talking about $400 - yes before resort fee. (I booked Bally's before the resort fees...but wil still probably pay it as we want to use the fitness room twice and it will be cheaper to pay for the resort fee as opposed to just the fitness room).

We like the pool at Flamingo.

I like the idea of the Tequila bar at Bally's (we have $180 in Total Reward credits - so wee will use that on drinks at the pool and shots at Tequila Bar).

I like the idea of bringing in drinks to the pool at Bally's.

I am caught between the place of 'Do i want to mix it up and go for Bally's?' OR 'Do I want to stay again at the Flamingo because I like the pool?'

Thoughts, questions, comments and other ideas appreciated.

    I would choose Ballys.
The rooms are nicer, larger, and more consistent in the North Tower.
Flamingo is very close if you want to go there.
You also are connected to Paris.
Even though the pool is nice,I don't like anything else about Flamingo

    age counts!

I too have stayed at both properties numerous times. The deciding factor I think should be your age! I know when we have the 20 something members of my family with us they all prefer the atmosphere at the Flamingo. We have had great rooms at both hotels. The pool at Flamingo was always a hit with the younger group but in recent past you have to get out there at crack of dawn to get a lounger. The reason I like Bally's (and I am a bit older) is that everything is a little more relaxed there. There dealers are super friendly, the pool is not as exciting but you can find a place to sit, get a great drink and actually sit in the pool and relax. Two years ago we had a snafu with our reservations at Paris. A group of 16 of us walked into Bally's on a Friday morning, asking for rooms...they got us all on the same floor, connecting rooms for a few, comped us a suite...they bent over backwards to please us and that has also made me a very loyal customer.

I would stay at Bally's. Bally's and Paris are conjoined twins with Planet Hollywood the next door neighbor with dining, shopping, and entertainment options, and although the pool is better at Flamingo, the Bally's pool will be fine.
Also, with the LINQ construction, you will be better off at Bally's right now.

If you haven't stayed at Bally's then stay there. I had a great room in the south tower with a great view and the room was huge. Also, the pool at Bally's has a 12ft deep end (I think last of its kind on the strip)

Stay somewhere you haven't stayed and of course have fun!

Can't speak about the Flamingo, but Bally's was nice. Stayed there for St. Patrick's Day Weekend given North Tower Room 2213, great view nice big room, comfortable beds, smoking room but no smell of smoke at all. Bathroom clean and served its purpose. Casino nice and laid back. Staying there again in June.

    bringing Drinks into Bally's pool?

Comments from other posters have made it known to me that yes you can bring drinks into Bally's pool.

Now it seems like there is some limit that you can bring before you get turned down.

It seems like bringing a 6 would be acceptable. So If I just bring that in my beach bag...who do you guys/girls keep it cold?

I suppose I could just ask for a bucket of ice...but that seems awkward, 'Hi. I want to feel all bad ass and save some money so I brought my own 6 pack in. But man it is hot today, can I get a bucket of ice?'

    Is this the best view?

So I am thinking about either asking for an upgrade to the jr. suite or fountain view in the south tower.

As far as fountain view goes, is this the best view possible?

Most hotels in cities everywhere have the stated policy of not allowing outside food and beverage. You will find differences in how vigorously this is enforced. Perhaps Ballys is not too stringent, but a line will be drawn somewhere, and I think by asking for ice, cups, etc for your SIX contraband beverages, you are crossing it.

You might get away with buying 2 beers, asking for an ice bucket, tipping, and using the bucket for your byob stuff. It seems like a lot of trouble and awkwardness for a very small benefit.

#1 Reason to stay at Bally's = STEPHANIE (Those that know her will know what I am talking about).

I think previous poster Carole stated it very well. If you are not into the young, party scene Bally's is awesome.

And, right now with Bill's Closed and the Quad construction, Bally's is less of a hassle to get in and out of.

One final thing, if you are a Diamond player - the diamond floors are awesome, usually always quiet with their own elevator banks (kind of), AND, the Diamond Lounge at Paris is much nicer than Flamingo's and just a short walk through the mall connecting Ballys/Paris.

Sounds like people have brought in 6 pack and hard liquor before.

    Hmmmm....

I think you will be disappointed with south tower (even suites), except for the view. The south tower has VERY dated furnishings (1980s?), tho large rooms & always clean. North tower doesn't offer the views, but still large rooms just renovated in last decade, so neutral decor, granite bath.

Big fan of Ballys (not Flamingo...rooms are smaller, pool more crowded, seem to have more cleanliness issues than Ballys, construction makes it even less desirable right now, imo--for Harrahs, too, another fav of ours, tho pool sucks)....have done both towers, but MUCH prefer north tower.
