    Hello!
I haven't been to the Flamingo since late 2013 and I know they had some renovations and construction, but I talked to a family member who was there in February and they said they had an awful time. The hallway had carpet pulled up, exposed floorboards. An all around bad hotel experience.
    Is that still going on?
    or are there any updates?

Last April I didn't see anything bad in the hotel part itself. Hallways I saw were normal. The major inconvenience I remember is they were replacing the escalator that goes up to the parking garage and Monorail station and they had a not very well marked stairway which was inconvenient or else wait for an elevator.

I just can't see an exposed floorboard causing an awful time for me. The Flamingo is an old hotel; it's in great shape for its age.

I agree. They said that the casino was great, but they will never stay at the hotel again bc of that experience. They said the wife almost fell over some pulled up carpet. I said they should have told someone, im sure they would have done something to upgrade or make things right.

Supposedly, they're in the midst of doing some upgrades. The casino carpet has been replaced. I was there in April, and it looks great.

I had sent an email to them earlier this spring, specifically asking about the elevator situation, and if they had plans to fix or replace. I got a response that they are being replaced, beginning this summer. The response also went on to day that they had just replaced the casino floor carpet, and would be replacing hallway carpets and painting the corridors. No time frame given, nor did I followup and ask. I'll be there in less than a month to see for myself.

The floor I was on last year (24, Spa Tower) had new carpet, so they must be working through floor by floor.

    Hope that helps

You might want to give them a shout. Most Vegas hotels ALWAYS have something being done to them.

I didn't stay there, but there was major renovation going on there during my trip in March. They shutdown a few banks of slots and games to bring a new escalator through the casino late one night/morning.
