solo trip for 5 nights starting July 4th. Trying to decide between 5 comped nights at Flamingo (Go with view), Paris (Red Premier), or PH (resort room).

I always enjoy Flamingo, but have heard horror stories about poor housekeeping, cockroaches, etc. I have stayed at Paris my last two trips, and enjoyed the red rooms, but I wish the casino was a little more exciting at night. I stayed at PH once, and had a great time, love the vibe in the casino, but the rooms are a little worn.

I have already rules out Harrahs and Quad as being a little too low-brow, and Caesars for being a little too high brow.....

I need to pull the trigger soon, and would appreciate some ideas based on my needs. I would be happy with the pools at all the properties.

Haven't heard that about the Flam. They have the best pool of the 3 if that matters otherwise Paris and it's an easy walk to PH and Flam.

PH or Paris hands down. I think personally, for a solo trip I'd want PH because there is so much to do there (I like having the shopping mall), also their casino is the biggest of the three. But Paris is just easier to manage size wise (easier in and out). The rooms at PH are a little worn, but it's still really nice, and clean. I stayed a few months ago and it was fine. Haven't stayed at Paris in a few years, but I still would.

Flamingo isn't great... I stayed there in November in a GO room, and while it's upgraded, my room and the hallway smelled.. like BO or something. The elevators were dirty and sketchy. I wouldn't eat at any of the restaurants in there either. It's a step down for sure. Since they are all free, why wouldn't you take the better resort!? The only reason I'd pick Flamingo is if I wanted to spend a lot of time at Caesars Palace.

I have stayed at PH and Paris and I would take PH just based on the atmosphere.

    Paris for sure!
Just stayed there last month in a Red Room Deluxe on the 27th floor with an awesome view of the pool, Eiffel Tower, and the Bellagio fountains.

Paris is my favorite place to stay at due to the location. PHo is next door, and you have the Bally's/Paris walkway so you stay indoors while traversing between the two properties. Bally's has my second favorite double deck pitch game for $10, so I am there quite a bit.

Go with Paris and you will be happy. I've stayed at PHo as well, both comped, but Paris has nicer rooms IMO.

I know it isn't on your list but rio is decent place with a great pool and you should be able to get it comped as well. Of course the location isn't prime, but there is a free shuttle to harrahs and its about a 15 minute walk to the strip, which isn't bad for me.

I stayed at flamingo once and the bathroom was terrible - kind of crossed them off my list...for now anyway

I like the rooms at Paris better than PH, no experience with Flamingo.
I like all three for gambling. The room service at PH and Paris are both great - I use room service more when traveling alone. Let us know what you decide!

Thanks for everyones input. Still havent pulled the trigger on the reservation. I almost had myself convinced to stay at Paris where I like the rooms, and spend time next door at PH where I like the vibe. But, even though it is right next door I feel different about a place if I am "visiting" versus "staying". And, to add confusion, I saw a video on youtube showing the forum tower rooms at CP, and they look like a great room for a solo traveler; and the forum tower elevators drop you off right in the middle of the casino not far from the strip.

I have stayed at both Paris & Planet Hollywood. If you are looking for a more lively casino and hotel PH is your choice.

I'm still trying to figure out where these sketchy elevators are at Flamingo. I have used the ones near the cafe, the spa ones and the check-in elevators. None of them were dirty, sketchy or scary.

I also haven't had any smell problems at Flamingo either. Some people ARE bothered by the air freshener however the only places you should even smell it are at the entry directly in from Margaritaville retail into that casino and the entry near crossover from Margaritaville casino to Flamingo main casino.

I love Paris also - even the standard rooms and normally just alternate between Paris (whichever room offered) and Flamingo GO. This trip is actually 2 in a row as Flamingo offered some freeplay for an offer during my dates. So I might as well at least START the trip with a win lol.

Here is a link to my photo log from November at Flamingo (also stayed in March).

You should see GO room, garden view, hall carpets (go floors), spa elevators, lobby, parts of casino, Margaritaville casino, garden elevators, FAB carpeted hallways, stairwell, construction area near buffet, gardens, and a few odd random ones. Yes, the hall carpets are worn. I kind of expected my travel companion last year to comment on them. I finally asked if they bothered her & she kind of rolled her eyes & said well the room carpet is clean and it's not like I am sleeping on the hallway floor. Why do I care? Good way to look at it.

As a note, I keep getting upgraded to a strip view, even when I book garden. If you do get a room with a view, find out if it is south facing or dead on strip view. If it is dead on strip, you will potentially get a lot of noise from the club at Caesars across the street. That's why I like the garden view better. Much quieter & I have had enough strip views over the years.

Those are some great pictures of the Flamingo...Thanks...

So, what can someone tell me about those cool jetted showers in the GO rooms? And try and keep the stories to about what the intended purposes are for them.
