We are booked to arrive on Nov. 16th at the Flamingo and was researching on how high rates were to maybe get a feel for how our chances for a complimentary upgrade were. Rates for the 16th are higher than they are for NYE ($325). I couldn't find anything online for events there... anybody know what is going on there then? Wynn, Venetian, and Bellagio is even cheaper for that night!!

I booked Flamingo for that weekend too a few months back. However, I have it COMP'D. I'm also hoping for $20 upgrade trick. Hopefully, it'll work. But with that kind of price I'd say you look elsewhere. Also keep checking back everyday as prices change a lot.

Were comp'd as well and was gonna try the same thing, but if rooms are $325, chances are slim on the upgrade.

DEMA at the Sands is that weekend. 16,000 Attendees. I would assume they offered discounted pricing for their attendees at many of the hotels close to the Sands Convention Center. I know for the gun show my husband looked at the one time they offered it at V/P, Flamingo, Harrahs, Caesars etc. as their was not enough room at V/P for all the attendees.

Plus Traders Expo at Caesars (7000) and Teachers Convention at MGM (5000) and Cosmetology at Ballys (1150)

If you NEED a cheaper room the Super 8 at Ellis Island has rooms under $100 for that night. It's a city block walk to the strip (Ballys/Bills) corner from there. I think the slightly higher priced rooms were more recently remodeled. I believe Dewey (??) has stayed there successfully. I think they may also have a free airport shuttle.
