    Hi everyone,

Need some help deciding which room to book...should we book the FAB Deluxe room or the GO Deluxe room at the Flamingo...and which is the best...cheapest way to book them? A friend sent me the LasVegasAdvisor website...shall we book it through there??

Is $525.00 for 5 nights in the GO Deluxe room expensive? We are going Feb 20 - 25, 2013.

Its my first trip to Vegas in 15 years...not sure what room to book...

    thanks for any advice!!

That isn't bad.. I'd definitely go for the GO room, they are completely upgraded. Seems ultra expensive on the weekend though.

Any other properties you are considering? I think for that money you might be able to do better. The rooms at Flamingo are nice, but the property needs some work, and the area surrounding it is under serious construction. For me, Flamingo is my choice only if it's an insane deal other wise i want to stay elsewhere.

I'm seeing Paris for $426 or the upgraded Red room for $624 on booking.com

$525 is the same rate as the harrahs friends & family rate comes up at right now. I think it was $375 for Fab Deluxe. You can probably get the same rate by using code: PFFF10 or IFNF8 (the one comes up on their page, the other when you are actually booking it - not sure which one works from an independent link). By booking on here it helps Sonya run the site.

Booking directly with Caesars (even thru a link here), would also normally give you a price that would be adjustable if the rates drop later on (keep checking!) AND refundable. If you book thru a travel 'site' it would be a non-refundable rate.

Now - room types? Who is going? If two guys you may not like the pink in the GO rooms. But they are the nicer room. Small TV in bathroom mirror - jetted shower - DVD player - flat screen TV - small fridge - coffee maker - pillow top beds. Some GO rooms (strip facing) have just showers. Others (south view & some garden views) have both tubs & showers. FAB rooms were just 'refreshed' however no work was done on the bathroom & they are standard hotel bathrooms with tub/shower combo, but more counter room than a GO. Both room types should have a safe in closet.

Thanks for the replies...we basically chose Flamingo because we hear its a great location...and I love the no fees...we were originally planning on NYNY but I really do not want to pay the resort fees...especially since we are going in February and will not be using any pools! We also looked at Bills...our friends recommend that hotel...but its more than the FAB Deluxe at Flamingo.

Before I book the room...is it best to join Total Rewards?

    thanks again :)

Rates you quote seem to be kinda expensive, but I don't know exactly what they're going for these days as I usually get them comped, even though I'm a lowly gold. So it definitely pays to sign up for total rewards even if you're a low roller.

As far as rooms, I've stayed in a GO three times and a FAB once, when the GO wasn't available, and I would definitely pay extra (if I had to) for the GO. Besides all the shtick, (electronic curtains, Denon sound system, TV in bathroom, jets in shower, fridge, pink everywhere) the main difference to me were the BEDS. The bed in the FAB room was like a rock, while the GO bed was one of the most comfortable beds I'd ever slept on. So much so that I tried to find who makes them so I can buy one for my house.

Just factor the fees into your rate. A good chunk of the time the Caesars properties are more money.

With all fees and taxes it's pretty darn close to the rate of Flamingo.

NYNY with tax and resort fee is $551

    Flamingo with tax is $588

The resort fees don't cover pools, parking or valet. They cover stuff like internet access, gym access and limited business center services. Stuff that I don't use either but if you do, those things are charged ala carte at non resort fee hotels.

There are some who would rather pay more Flamingo over NYNY. I personally wouldn't do that unless it was a GO room. But that being said, I normally exclude both in my ponderings.

Yea you can use these, it only matters if it's like a special players club promotion, but most of the promotions are available to everyone. They just post it on facebook.. or e-mail it or whatever.

Check smartervegas.com the MGM properties have different ones all the time, the Caesars properties tend to have one or two that go most of the year. The ones I posted in my last post are the most current and go out to your dates in February. If you wait a little there could be more... but I doubt you'd save much more than these deals.

I've stayed in FAB a couple times, they're really nice. I just booked using my cET card and went straight through front desk. When you get there, ask what they can do for you - last time I got top floor FAB strip view.

Got home at 1:00 am this morning. We upgraded ( for 20.00 a night) to the GO room from Fab deluxe. No comparison in my opinion. We have stayed at Flamingo many times and we will not even consider booking a non GO room ever again. They have maintained themselves very nicely. Not wearing at all and the bathrooms are 100% better than the non renovated FAB rooms. I was impressed with the Flamingo this time, elevators ( Spa tower) were upgraded, carpets were still dirty but overall the building seemed to have a fresher feel to it.

For the sake of not reading every response, if I were you I'd join TR NOW, and then call the hotel directly. It's weird how much the prices will fluctuate from one minute, no- one operator to the next.

Get a GO room. You may never setle for any other room at the Dirty Bird.

    The bed was awesome.
