Hi, going to Vegas for the first time on Wednesday and staying at the Flamingo. Will have access to a car for the first couple of days which brings me to my point.

    1. Are we going to be able to take grocerys into our hotel room easily or will we be hassled? (It will be like snacks, couple of cases of beer, few spirits, case of water etc) Only reason I ask is that I have stayed at hotels before (not in vegas) where they get very funny about this kind of thing!

    2. Where is the closest grocery store (Walmart or equivilent) where we can go and pay normal prices for the things listed above (not strip prices!) in Proximity to the Flamingo Hotel. As I said we have access to a Car for the first 2 days

    3. Is there a way to get to the Flamingo parking garage without taking the strip, and does it fill quickly?

One of my friends told me that the Flamingo now has a store in it or really close to it ( walking distance). You may want to do more research on this. We wondered t5he same thing because we usually drive so our cooler is full and ready to go. This year we are flying so we needed to figure out where to stock up.

Google maps are your friend. If you have a car, there are TONS of options within a 5-10 minute drive of the hotel.

Flamingo parking entrance is off Audrie. Just look at a map and you'll see where you need to go.

I have brought LOTS of food & drink to various hotel rooms and never had a problem. Including boxes from a liquor store and coolers. Might help that I'm a "grown" woman and not a 20-something guy, but that's my data point anyway.

If you're walking, Stage Door deli is nearby and has cheaper-than-Strip pricing, I've heard.

    start heading down the strip.
Turn right (Mandalay Bay on your left) at E. Reno ave to E. Tropicana.
You can turn right at the Tropicana, a but a liitle more traffic there.
Turn left on Koval Lane continue down and take left on to Flamingo.
    Take next right on Audrie.
Take left after Batista's and Flamingo Garage self park on the left.

Because the O'sheas garage and Hilton H are closed, the garage is busier, you may have to go up a few floors.

Get off on floor 3 to the ramp to the hotel.

    Bringing stuff in is easy-peasy.

I'm checking in there this afternoon.!

If you go right on Flamingo there's a .99 cent store about 10 blocks down from Terribles. You can get water, soda there.
If you take Tropicana east there's a Super Walmart there. Sells alcohol too.

    Have fun.

There are Walmarts all over Las Vegas. I can think of at least 3 that are closer to Flamingo hotel than one across from Sam's Town....

Google maps is great. You can just type in Las Vegas, then type in Walmart or liquor, or bar and they all pop up.

If you find that you forget something & don't feel like dragging the car back out, there is a HUGE new Walgreens at the south end of Planet Hollywood. Not a bad walk at all from Flamingo. They have basically anything you would need but would be priced higher than a Walmart - but more convenient in a lot of situations.

I go to this Walmart Grocery store after I pick up the car at the rental center. Just head east on Warm Springs Rd.
    7445 S Eastern Ave
    Las Vegas, NV 89123

It's not a regular Walmart or a superstore, it's some sort of Walmart Grocery store. They don't have them around where I live.

When I stayed at Flamingo I parked at Bill's Hotel. The garage had easier access and it was shorter to my hotel room.I hate the Flamingo garage but I'm weird like that.

We usually go to the Walmart on Rainbow and Spring Mountain. It's not the closest, but it is the one that we are most familiar with.

Having said that, alcohol prices are a little cheaper at the Gold Coast and Orleans gift shops. A six pack of beer is $5.99 domestic or $6.99 import, and you can get 10% discount with the Club Coast card. My friend tells me the liquor prices are very reasonable too.

I usually go to the Walmart or target on tropicana. But,the prices at the Walgreens and ABC stores (in particular the one in the back part of miracle mile shops) aren't as bad as you might think. I guess competition keeps the prices reasonable. Just stay away from the hotel gift and sundries stores. They are much higher than the drug stores.

The Walmart 'Grocery Store' concept is called a Neighborhood Market. We stop at the one on Warm Springs each visit. Good prices on wine there too. On Flamingo heading east you'll also find a 7-11 and Jay's market which have a lot of supplies. Albertson's is probably the closest actual grocery store at Flamingo and Maryland. There is a good liquor store at Paradise and Flamingo. I think it's called 'Super'.

Why not just stop in the Stage Door, behind Bill's on Flamingo... right next to the Flamingo garage? :confused2:

It really depends on what the OP is looking for. S/he said that snacks in addition to drinks and a case of water are desired. There are tons of options around, and I think we've listed them all - there will be a solution for everyone somewhere, yes?:peace:

(if I had a car, I wouldn't go to Stage Door - I'd go someplace with a wider selection and better prices)
