    My Trip Report

Just spent 3 nights in Vegas with my wife. We are both in our mid 30s. We had not been since 2012. Stayed at the Flamingo for 3 comped nights.

    August 23rd

    - flew from Detroit to Las Vegas. Took a taxi to the hotel and arrived at 12:30pm. Got in line behind about 10 other people. When I got to the desk, I asked if any complimentary upgrades to a Go Room were available, she quoted me a price for an upgrade, I declined and we ended up on the 27th floor of the Habitat Tower facing the High Roller. Then went to the liquor store beside Batista's Hole in the Wall, loaded up the fridge and headed to the pool.

    - that night, we took the monorail to MGM, walked over to Luxor and used our MyVegas free Buffets. We then attended Fantasy with 2 free tickets also using our MyVegas Rewards. Finally got back to the room and into bed at 1:15am. Fire alarm went off around 2:15am for 10 minutes, but they then said it was a false alarm.

    August 24th
    - made it to the Flamingo buffet around 10am and used a Groupon we had purchased. After breakfast we explored the Link and Harrah's before arriving to the pool around 12:30. Quickly found 2 chairs and swam and drank for the afternoon. Around 3:30pm we headed back to the room, but I made a detour to the front desk to complain about the wifi not working in our room. We were in the middle of the hallway, and it worked 20 feet to each side of our room, but not in our room. Also, the wifi in the entire hotel was down at this time, so were were unable to Facetime our kids back at home. The lady at the desk apologized, offered to waive all of the resort fees for the 3 nights and gave me a $30 food/beverage credit. WAYYYYY more than I ever expected. My wife then went for a nap and I headed to the Link Sportsbook to watch some baseball before dinner.

    - went to Hask House A Go Go for dinner and used a Buy 1 Get 1 Entree free coupon. After dinner, we did some gambling and drinking before going to see Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood. After Britney, we walked across to the Bellagio, watched the fountain show, and then headed back to the room to sleep.

    August 25th
-left the room around 9:30am and headed to the Mirage to redeem our MyVegas free dinner buffets for that night. At the desk, I also had a 4th MyVegas reward in my pocket for Secret Garden For 2 Tickets and asked the lady if I could also use them. She surprisingly let us, so we went and explored for about 45 minutes. We then walked to the Palazzo for lunch at the Grand Lux. Eventually made it back to the Flamingo and spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and drinking.

    - made it to the Mirage Buffet for dinner around 6pm. After dinner, we stopped at Tix4Tonight and bought 2 tickets for the 8pm XComedy at the Flamingo (we also used the online $2 off/person coupon). We spent the rest of the night drinking and gambling mostly at Ballys and Paris before eventually calling it a night.

    August 26th
    - up at 7am to get ready to go home. I went down to the desk around 8am to checkout while my wife continued to get ready to leave. I noticed on my bill that 2 of the resort fees were showing despite being told by the lady earlier that she had waived them all. The lady at the desk quickly removed them and also removed the remaining $25 I had charged to the room for drinks at the pool that wasn't covered by the previous $30 food/beverage credit. All I had to pay was the tips I had charged to the room at the pool or else my bill would have been $0.00. Got to the airport around 9am for our 10:45am flight. Landed in Detroit around 5:30pm, got the car, stopped at the Duty Free, experienced about a 45 minute wait at the border and were home by 10pm.

If you get 4 rewards why would you have to ask to use the 4th?

Enjoyed your TR - and nice to see Flamingo made things right with no hassle - always a win when all you have to pay are the tips! Sounds like a great getaway with your wife.

I might have missed where he said he had 4, but it's typically 3 per 30 day period for MGM properties unless you have funded the game to an extent. And that also applies to outside of Vegas. A Tunica reward we forgot we used about 3 weeks earlier cost us an Aria buffet last year.

TSA must be doing better at McCarren if you made it thru so quickly. Good to know.
    Sounds like a good trip!

We were entitled to 3 each. The Secret Garden counted as a 4th for me.

How did you get the 4th if you are only entitled to 3?

Wondering if an employee was smart enough to override the computer. We weren't that lucky obviously or our guy gave two shits about cutting us a break.

You can actually "purchase" more than 3 rewards. It is redeeming that begins the count. This is what I understand from myvegas.

Thanks for the trip report - glad you had a good time!!

I had not gone in and made a reservation online for it because we didn't think we would be allowed to use it anyway. All I had was the email confirmation printed.

Nice report. However, would have been interested in what you thought of the shows you saw. And, how did you get around? Just walk- taxi- monorail- uber/lyft?

Fantasy - appeared to be 85% full. Was not the type of show we would normally do, but it was free and allowed us to save a few dollars by not paying for our own entertainment that night. Singing, dancing and magician were all entertaining.

Britney - sat in the $60 dollar seats. The theatre was much bigger than I imagined. She "sang" all of her big hits. The breaks/costume changes slowed down the momentum of the show. Glad we went so we could saw we saw it.

Xcomedy - chose this as we wanted to be close to the hotel. We had seen Vinnie Favorito twice previously and really enjoyed him, but didn't want to make the trek all the way to Hooters to see him again. The 2 host comedians were much better than the 2 people who performed in the middle of the show.

For transportation we took regular taxis to and from the airport for under $20 with tip and the monorail to the far end of the strip/MGM when we went to Luxor and back. Everything else we did we walked. I had a BoGo for the monorail, but the booth closed at 6pm at the Flamingo, so we just paid full price.

For Britney -- how were the $60 seats? I have the $150 seats reserved and am hoping they are good, I can't believe how much those tickets cost!

We had section 207, Row U, Seats 1 & 2 and I thought they served their price. The only thing you miss sitting a little further back is the obvious lip synching by not seeing her lips move
