    My Trip Report

It seemed strange going to Vegas on Easter Sunday. Everything went so smoothly though. We always use the same charter company to fly to Vegas. There are a lot of times they are late taking off. Not this time. We actually boarded and took off out of OKC on time. We arrived in Vegas on time. It was nice. The airport in Vegas was not crowded at all. It seemed like our plane was the only one arriving at that time. We arrived at around 3:00pm. We went down to the baggage area and no one was there. We used the Park Place check in area at the airport. No line. I was able to get a newly remodeled room with a strip view without a view. No extra charge. We were whisked off to our hotel in a cab. We dropped off our bags ran across the street to Belagio and got in a very short line for their Easter buffet. It was SOOOOOOOO good.
After the meal we gambled at the Belagio for a a bit. We went to a few other casinos and went to bed.

Monday was a beautiful day. I can't really remember everything we did. We walked around a lot. We had breakfast at one of the little pastry shops in Paris. We ate dinner at a Mexiban restaurant at the Venetian. Those were the best chicken enchiladas I have ever eaten. We lost a lot of money.

Tuesday it was cold and rather breezy. We walked around some more. We ended up eating breakfast at the Bally's coffee shop. Our friends at the Paris buffet for breakfast. They said it was great. We went from casino to casino gambling. Everyone was losing when playing slots. I won just a small pot at MGM. Later that evening we went to Rio and had the seafood buffet. It was pretty good, but it was not the Belagio Buffet by any stretch of the imagination. We waited about 30 minutes and went to the Voodoo Lounge. That has to be the best night time view of Vegas in my opinion. It was very cold outside, but it was not windy. We could only stay outside a few minutes at a time to gaze. The band was great. The drinks were very good (a friend and I shared two Witch Doctors). Everyone started dancing and having a good time. We closed the bar down. They had to run us out. We left and went to back to gamble near our hotel since we were a little intoxicated. There was not anyone walking out on the strip except for us. It was so dead. We went to play blackjack. We were all losing pretty bad so we went to bed about 3:30.

Wednesday we slept late. Got up and went to have breakfast at Lindy's coffee shop because the buffet line was too long. We then went up to the room to change into our swimsuits. Our friends had rented a cabana. I am glad they did. The pool was so crowded, people were laying out on the grassy area back by the hotel (which is a ways from the pools). We had plenty of room. It was very nice. Still a little cool out. It finally started getting warm around 2:00pm. We stayed until about 3:30. We went up showered, dressed and headed for Caesar's. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory. This is the first time I have eaten there. It was pretty good. My husband and I shared the Shrimp Scampi in garlic sauce over angel hair pasta. We decided to share so we could have cheesecake too. Everyone else had such large portions. Ours was pretty big, but we decided we should have ordered one a piece as we were still hungry (I guess because of the seafood it wasn't as big). We ordered a cheesecake a piece because he wanted plain and I wanted Key Lime. The cheesecake is great! Our friends had the Silk and Satin (chocolate lovers paradise) and the Strawberry Shortcake (this is huge!). I was then glad we shared our meal because the cheesecake was so large and rich. I was extremely full after we ate. We went out to gamble. I was still having such bad luck. We walked across the street so they could play BJ. I didn't want to because I was doing just as bad at it. I went to play slots for awhile. I spent the rest of what I planned to spend and went to bed by 9:00pm. I never go to bed that early in Vegas on the last night. It felt so weird. My husband came in around 10:45. He had been winnning but when they changed dealers he decided to leave because the dealer started out with a BJ, his next deal he drew to a 21 and his third deal he drew to a 21 and beat my hudband's 20. He felt it was going south and he wanted to keep the money he just won.

All in all it was a great trip. We had a really good time with our friends. I felt bad for them because it was so cold and they were wanting to have more pool time (I think). I know it would have been better on my wallet. We have been during the week before and it was not as dead as it was this time. I was going to chalk it up to Easter, but it was SOOOOO crowded on the Strip (not the airport) on Sunday night. It cleared out on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday night it picked up a little again. I doubt we will go so early in the spring again. I have grown to love Vegas when it is hot. [IMG] . The slots were the tightest I have ever seen them. I hope it was just during this week and it is not how it has been for awhile. I know it has made me not want to go back for awhile. I can imagine there are a few other people feeling that way too. You can tell the hotels have cut back on staff. Cocktail waitresses or any service person for that matter, were hard to find.

    ILoveVegasBaby,
I like Vegas when it is not too crowded. Check-in at the airport sounded like a breeze!
Our trip last September was simular to your's ... quite devastating money wise, and we weren't too anxious to return in March. But we did and did have a little better luck, not much. My husband is like you, ...not too anxious to return in August after two losing trips. Sometimes the gambling Gods pass us by. :D
Thanks for your report .. very nice! Sorry good luck didn't follow you there! But since it is Vegas, maybe next time .... [IMG]

Sunday would have been the CA crowed getting ready to leave id say. Then they start coming back Wed. Sounds like a decent trip. I can feel your pain on the cold temps, last time we were in Vegas, it snowed.

  6. We have booked a trip to Vegas for July and are staying at the Flamingo this trip, It is our second trip there. Do you have any suggestions on asking for particular floor or room, we don't want to be too far from the elevator. Any other hints would be great, thanks [IMG]
