I kind of hope that they purchase this and display it - it's got a lot of old-school charm even if it's not quite as massive and gaudy as some of their current stock.

The price seems steep for scrap.

The Boneyard has a few relics from Fitzgeralds.

When we went in January there was a full "Fitzgeralds" sign behind the "Lady Luck" sign and on big "F" in the front along with some of the green and gold clover signs near the front of the loop through the Boneyard.

I am sure I have some pictures somewhere that could confirm that.

Are you telling me they couldn't get a tax deduction for donating it to the Boneyard? It boggles the mind to see something like that on eBay.

On my visit to the Boneyard our tour guide told us that they actually purchase most of their signs - they are not all donated. Often times they are outbid as there are some avid sign collectors around with deep pockets - she said Penn Gillette has a collection.

The Boneyard already has some Fitz signage, and I would say the space is quite limited as well so not sure they would have a use for a third Fitz sign if it were to be gifted.

Wasn't the story that the owners of the D wanted to donate it but it was too large for the Neon Museum?

Perfect, I can put it next to the Sundance neon glowing in my backyard.
