I was just there and boy is it loud. Holy crap. But they did have 3:2 BJ @ $5 on Memorial day evening. My group took over a whole table. Dealer was an idiot though. She did a double take at every hand motion you gave. Yes moron I want to stay on my 14 against your six. Yes moron my wife wants to hit her 12 against your face card. I was tempted to give her the finger and see if she would ask m again if I wanted her to $#%@ off. Sorry for the rant.

    Reno's at the D

I am booked at the D first week of August, according to their res. dept, progress has just begun, so I doubt that room, was one of the new reno's, as a only a few have been done so far.
As far as www.oyster.com , well. i've been back and forth with them for over a week now, their website says that Harrah's has a jucuzzi by their pool, so i booked a stay at Harrah's based on that info, but further checking with Harrah's them selves, they told me they do not have a jacuzzi at their vegas location, oyster.com, are still refusing to update that fact, so I have little faith on what they report.

I would actually trust Oyster over the centralized phone system of Caesars Entertainment. We booked at the Rio a couple of years ago because my wife wanted a pool so we called to make sure it would be open the last week of October. We were assured it would be. You can guess the rest.

Anyway, Oyster has posted pictures of Harrah's two jacuzzis: http://www.oyster.com/las-vegas/hotels/harrahs-hotel-and-casino-las-vegas/photos/pool/ (Jacuzzi pics from photos 69-78)

The pool being opened or closed, well she may not have known about planned maintenance on the pool, or perhaps something beyond their control, like a pump had to be replaced, these things happen, happened to me at the Orleans one year, exact same thing as you. However, you either have a jacuzzi or you don't, that's plain and simple. Harrah's website make no mention of a jacuzzi either. As far as the pictures go, yes they have pictures of 2 jacuzzi, but there's nothing that I can see that actually connects them to Harrah's, other than the fact that oyster seems to think they have not one but two jacuzzi, all the while Harrah's say they have none.Who ya gonna believe...

The D has improved over the old fitz, didnt see any 6/5 tables, it was loud but not overpowering, they really refurbished it as well with some super kickass tv's all over.

There are a ton of auto-shufflers, which to me are worse than single deck 6/5 blackjack. Cards dealt from 6-8 deck shufflers aren't for me.

Give me 3/2 double deck with DAS.

I agree that the auto shufflers are bad, not as bad as 6/5 for me though. If I have to, I'll sit at the auto shfflers, I will not play 6/5 under any circumstances.

I am the opposite but, only by a small margin as, in general, I refuse to play at a table where either exists. I've only played 6/5 once and that was because my drunk ass plopped down next to a friend who was playing. About three hands in, I noticed the sign but stuck it out anyway. Found myself almost hoping that I wouldn't get a blackjack and that's when I decided that I should never play 6/5again. :poke: Having said all that, I can't say that I will NEVER play 6/5 again (though its only happened the one time) but, shufflers are an absolute no in my book. The whole idea just annoys me. No practical, statistal, or experiential reason for it. I just can't stand it.

I haven't been to vegas in three years but we stayed at Harrah's three years ago and they had a jacuzzi, I was in it. very nice. So unless they renovated that area i'm sure that it's still there.

I'm kind of interested in staying at The D but only after the room renovations are complete. What do you suppose the odds are that they'll get that done by the end of this year? Allegedly, they've started but I haven't seen any reviews yet.

We will be staying at The D at the end of next week. I will report back if I find out some rooms have been renovated. I will even ask for a renovated room when we check in and see what they say.
