I've been looking at hotels for the past month trying to figure out where to stay and trying to get the best deal. I decided to give priceline a whirl and ended up with the Venetian for $606 total ($175 avg per nite plus taxes) I am really hoping I made a good choice I had made reservations at Ballys for about $450 for their cheapest room and at Paris for $620. Did I win or lose with this gamble?? This is my first trip to Vegas and I am very excited and can finally relax a bit now that the hotel is a done deal.

The average rate for the Venetian is $199 and more on the weekends, so you did good :) you an always go put in your dates at the Venetians site and see how much you saved. You will love it there! I wouldn't say it's a HUGE deal, but you likely saved at least $25 a night, hey that covers the resort fee :)

Word of the wise for anyone else who wants to use Priceline, don't bid anything but 5 star in Vegas it's too varied! (says me who has stayed at the Westin one too many times haha). Also you can get a killer deal at the Trump on Priceline! I got well over half off last time I stayed.

Without knowing the dates (I’ve seen Venetian at anywhere from $149-499), it is impossible to say how good the deal was. But, compared to the other two hotels you mentioned, I’d say you did well. If it were me, the decision to choose Venetian over the two others (at the prices you mentioned) would be an easy one. (I’ve stayed at all three places.)

I think you’ll enjoy it there. The property is enormous with all the over-the-top trappings you expect from a strip hotel. And between it and Palazzo (the two are connected via a shopping area), the restaurant options are fantastic. The rooms are also pretty nice, and probably the largest “standard” rooms you’ll find in Vegas.

Location is subjective, of course. Everyone has their favorite area of the strip. But IMO, Venetian’s location is excellent for a first timer. Easy walk to the north strip casinos and Fashion Show Mall as well as the center strip. The south part of the strip would be a hike – though entirely doable – but cabs care cheap.

If the rest of your gambling goes as well as this bet, you’ll have a great time. Best of luck.

My travel dates are for checking in 10/5 and checking out 10/8 I think I saved about $150 or so.. I know I'm getting a better room/hotel but I wasn't sure if the location was "good" as well.. I guess I've heard "the hotel room doesn't matter ur only going to be sleeping there" comment alot so i wasn't sure if a better room was worth it..I guess if anything ill figure out what I like n don't like n make a diff decision the next go around..thanks to everyones comments all the opinions is greatly appreciated
