Hello from the UK ( actually Afghanistan ATM but soon to be home ) I have just planned a secret trip to vegas with my op bonus of course for me and my fiancé in May 2015 before we head off to Orlando to get married.

Neither of us have been to vegas before and because I'm not telling him untill last minute I'd like to get a few hints and tips before we go away so at least I look a little like I have planned this properly and not waited untill last minute!

Do people meet up in vegas or do couples tend to stick to themselves. . . .? It would be nice to form some kind of group to go for a drink with once we are there? Who knows probably just meet people by the pool ey.

We are staying in caesars palace for 3 nights.

If anyone has some inside info on making our trip spectacular it would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to VMB!

My wife and I mostly stick to ourselves, we did meet up with VMBers aaisack and NCISfan during our last trip and that was a lot of fun. You could easily shoot for a VMB meet-up. If you are outgoing people I imagine you could make freinds at the pool, while gaming, or in the bar.

In regards to making your trip spectaculart, don't worry, it will be spectacular. It's Vegas. Ceasars's is huge so you'll spend plenty of time exploring your home resort.

Congrats on the trip & wedding!! Restaurants?? Give us some of your preferences and if you want to stay close to Caesars. So much to do & see in 3 days....scour this board for info on places that might interest you....Don't miss the Bellagio fountain show or conservatory just next door.....Go across the street to visit the new Cromwell and possibly head over to grab a margarita & volcanic nachos at Margaritaville.....always a good time. Good luck & hope you have a really great time!!!

best advice i can give you from experience is to bring a pair or really comfortable shows for walking around.
the distances between casinos can be deceiving.
ending up with a blister or sore feet can kill your trip.
save any fancy shoes for going out to a specific place.

and remember to stay hydrated. ok, that's my number 2 bit of advice

Even if there is no formal meet and greet you will likely meet lots of people. We always meet someone in Vegas and now have people we met there who actually meet up with us periodically when our trips coincide. It's really easy to meet people there as everyone is there to have a good time and conversations get started at slot machines, show theatres, restaurants and lounges.

Have a great time and congrats on the upcoming wedding!

To add on the things to do, I would start by looking at a map of the Vegas strip. Find Ceasars Palace and make notes on things to do north and south of there. That way when you head-out you know whats ahead. For example, if you head south you soon get to Bellagio which has the great fountain shows outside and the conservatory inside (neat to see). A ways down from there NYNY with the rollar coaster, etc.

Have you been to Orlando before? Where are you getting married? Grand Floridian?

There's a lot to do/see around there. Do you want to see any shows? If so, what kind? There's one at Ceasars that's supposed to be good, Absinthe. It's a bit on the raw side from the sounds of it, but everyone on here that's seen it likes it.

For food/dinners, what do you like? What's your budget? There's something for everyone there.

I'd also suggest going downtown at night. Good to see the "original" Vegas.

Good luck, and have lots of fun. That's priority #1 of course.

I could write for hours to complete a response as your questions is very generic.
To receive more complete answers try to be more specific. Each person here has their own idea of what makes a Vegas trip "spectacular".

If wanting to meet with others, post in this section .

I suggest playing some slots and table games together. Try a game of Craps together.

If only staying 3 nights, not sure if I would bother with any shows as there are lots to do. Since staying at Caesars, maybe go see Absinthe.

Post back with some more detailed questions and plans :
    - Are you looking for any shows?
    - Is this trip purely gambling?
    - Are you wanting to stay only on strip?
    - Are you wanting to venture downtown or go off strip?
    - Are you renting a car?

It is really hard not to have a good time even with nothing planned. :peace:
