    My Trip Report

Hello from Oklahoma! I have lurked around for a bit and decided to give this a shot. My wife and I and two friends are flying out on 3/17 and staying at the Stratosphere for three nights. I'm ready for vacation and the countdown is on.

I thought I might give a report from last years trip on ST. Patricks day. This was our first trip to Sin City and we loved every second of it. We stayed at Stratosphere and were satisfied with the service and the room, nothing fancy but clean. My wife is a special education teacher so we took her spring break to make this trip. On with last years report....

We flew non stop from Tulsa via Southwest and the flight was flawless, we arrived on time and our friends that were with us (wifes co-teacher and her husband). Are Vegas vets. We got our rental car with no problems and headed out to the strat. Check in was quick and easy. I got hit up for a time share but ignored that little bit of nonsense. Room was fine, small bathroom, shower only. We got settled and went to eat at the diner at strat. Nice theme decent food.
Next...... Fremont adventure for a country boy.

    Fremont for a country boy

After we ate we decided to head down to Fremont and check it out. I was excited to see some of the historic places I had always heard about. We parked at MSS and walked over to Fremont, along the way we saw street creatures sleeping on the sidewalk and one holding a sign that said; I won't lie, I want a hooker! Lol We went into Binions first and I loved it, I bought in a craps game and played for about an hour but the table wasn't working well, two beers and 100 dollars later We wandered over to Fremont. On our way I noticed a man in a wedding dress posing for pics, when he turned around I was shocked to see it was backless and he was wearing a thong. Wow! My wife ushers me along to keep me from embarrassing her with my WTF look. Fremont was ok but the tables were crowded and I didn't play anything so I watched to canopy show. Fremont Street is cool and I enjoyed the scene, nobody won anything but it was fun. We drove back to the Strat and played for a bit. I lost another 200 at the craps table and went to bed slightly buzzed from the Bloody Mary and beer. Day one, down 300 and still having fun. Next up: Hoover Dam the strip and Laughlin.

Lookin' forward to the rest! Nice positive report! We have a couple women in our office, who can stay anywhere they like in Vegas and they always choose the Strat of late... they love it there.

Hoover Dam, The strip and Laughlin

Sunday morning we got up about 7 and showered, met our friends and headed to breakfast at Denny's. Typical breakfast nothing fancy. We decide to head to the dam and take the tour. If you have never seen it it is well worth the trip, I enjoyed the tour and the history and was amazed that something like that could be constructed by man. After our tour we headed back to Vegas and our friends took us on the much anticipated tour of the strip. We started out at Excalibur, didn't play anything just looked around, not impressed with it. Went through Luxor and had a beer and checked out the place, didn't play but it was nice, nice theme. Toured Mandalay Bay and was impressed with it, nice place and had a pretzel dog at the food court. Went over to NY NY and loved that place, made a stop at Houdini's, I'm a magic buff and Houdini fan. Bought a few tricks and headed over to MGM. I was amazed at the sheer size of the casino floor. We split up to play and I went to the bar and ordered a Bloody Mary and was shocked it was ten bucks. Found a let it ride table and bought in for 100. About the fourth hand in I was dealt three aces, the lady next to me said, "wouldn't it be nice if the dealer has one"? I tucked the cards and the dealer turns up Duce and ace! Damn Man!!! 1150 in one fell swoop! I played a couple more hands and cashed. I tipped the dealer 100 and went to the cage, found my wife and she was in shock. We decided to head back to the Strat and the room safe to rid myself of carrinying that much cash. I get nervous in a strange place with lots of cash. We ate the buffet at strat, it's ok nothing special. We took in the siren show at TI and toured the place. Headed over to CP and was in awe of that place. Back to strat and played craps for an hour and cashed up 200. Bed at 4. We got up at 9 and headed to Laughlin, stopped for breakfast at Denny's. The desert scenery was nice, different from the Osage hills in Oklahoma anyway. We went in to a riverboat looking casino in Laughlin where I won another 300 playing craps. Headed over to Aquarius where I won another 150 at let it ride. Laughlin is ok but it's not vegas, had fun but I don't think we will do that this year. We got back to Vegas about four and headed to Outback for dinner. We decided to check out Circus Circus and slots of fun. They can keep Circus Circus for all I care, got hit up by a lady of the night while at the front desk waiting for my wife visiting the powder room. Slots of fun was ok, I won 125 playing there, a first for me since I rarely play slots. Back to the strat. and more craps and let it ride. I cashed out up another 300 combined and called it a night at three. Flight home was smooth and peaceful. We have bee counting the days until this years trip. We are hooked for life. 3/17-3/20 2014 Vegas here we come!!!

I'm curious how much did you wager when you were dealt the 3 aces? :drunk:

    Wager

It was a 5 dollar min. Table. So I had a total of 16 bucks bet. That was the biggest win I've ever had gambling. We have been to Tunica many times but never had this kind of luck. I hope it continues this year in Vegas.
