Wife and I are staying at the Wynn and the Trump for a couple of days each.

What is the best supermarket near the north end of the strip to stop and pick up some water, snacks, booze etc ?

Where is the best/cheapest/easiest parking mid strip, south strip & downtown?

Always interested in mob in general. Is the mob museum worth seeing? Can I walk to it from downtown or is that a scary area?

Probably going out to Zion Natl Park. Would like spend 2-4 hours there. Any recommendations on what to see/do?
Any other general car threads worth reading?

    Grocery stores(from Gambool.com):
Nearest Grocery Store to the North Strip
There are three nearby grocery stores to the north Strip, defined as the Treasure Island (T.I.), Venetian, Wynn, Circus Circus, Trump Hotel, Riviera, Stratosphere areas. Two of these grocery stores are across the street from each other: Albertsons and Smith’s, while the third, a Von’s on E. Twain Avenue.
The Albertsons is just off of Sahara Avenue, about 1/2 mile east of the Strip. There is also a Smith’s grocery store just another 1/4 mile down Sahara, if you prefer that chain over Albertsons. The Albertsons, however, is the closest grocery store to the SLS Las Vegas and some other nearby Strip hotels on the north side of Las Vegas Boulevard. The Stratosphere, for example, is just about 1.3 miles from this grocery store, or a 25 minute walk or so.

We prefer Whole Foods on Las Vegas Blvd south of the strip - it's only a couple minutes from McCarran car rental center.

Mob Museum - YES. Safe, short walk from anywhere downtown. Plan on two or three hours there...

Re Zion .... it's amazing to drive in from the east, which is not the usual route from Vegas. If you can manage it, do it!

Once in, walk up the canyon (assuming the water flow allows you).

Agree on the Mob Museum: I felt very safe walking there early afternoon. It's not that far from the main Freemont Experience.

If I was looking for parking on the strip, I would just use valet at a casino. The locals can tell you which ones currently impose a fee but in any case, it will be a humble tip.

Finally, there are so many places for picking up snacks/booze that it's hardly worth worrying about.

    Cheers

For supermarket, I would use the Vons on E Twain. Last time I was in it was several years ago, but it was large and clean.

When you leave, you will travel west on E. Twain, which turns into Sands Ave, which runs the rest of the way to the Strip, runs between Palazzo and Wynn, so you would just take a right turn onto the Strip to get to Wynn. You may even be able to get into Wynn from Sands Ave, I'm not sure.

Trump Hotel, by the way, does not have self-park. ONLY Valet parking at Trump.

Red Rock was close by and a fun trip. You could easily do the loop in 2-3 hours without much walking.

There is a Von's on Tropicana right by the Airport. I always hit that one after getting the rental car.

All MLife properties now charge for parking (both valet and self), so those are definitely NOT the cheapest. Everywhere else on the strip is still free. I would say the best free parking mid-strip is Cosmo. May be more of a mess now though...I dunno how it's changed since MLife started charging. If you want to pay $8 for the day, I would also recommend the Monte Carlo garage for simplicity (may not be as easy if there is an event at T-Mobile Arena now though).

If you are out and about, google is great to find things. You just type "grocery" into your map and it highlights those in your area.

Zion is fantastic. Emerald Pools, and Angels Landing are my favorites. I would try and spend more then 2-4 hours unless you are not interested in the hikes. If you are hiking, I would leave Vegas Early, and leave Zion before sunset. I'll be there in Nov during Thanksgiving, but probably hitting Bryce Canyon.
