I noticed the First Food + Bar @ Palazzo closed a few weeks ago.

Any suggestions for "upscale bar food in a fun yet not touristy environment?"

    Thanks!

    First Food and Bar closing

Thank you for the information on First Food and Bar. I had a gift certificate
from Restaurant.com. I will exchange it for another restaurant. The tips on this site are very helpful.

I'm hesitant to recommend this because of my mixed experience, but Public House at Venetian has very good food and a very good tap selection. The service I had in February was terrible, but.....If you're looking in that location, you might want to try it.

There's another bar there we didn't try - by one of the exits and now I can't find the name - wasn't recommended here when I had asked about places to eat there but they had a great tap selection & a bar/seats in the casino area - I tend to like that sort of people-watching opportunity:peace: I'll look for the name......Rattlesnake? Something odd like that.

    ETA Rattlecan burgers....

I haven't been to the one at the Venetian, but we had horrible food at the Public House at Luxor We shouldn't have let them serve us anything else after our mussels arrived all dried out as if they'd spent half the day under a heat lamp. The beer selection was pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend the food based on my experience.

TOTALLY different restaurants, Luxor and Venetian. Not at all related.

Rattlecan was shuttered with First Food.

Park on Fremont (Fremont/LV blvd) just opened. I'm anxious to give it a try and hopeful it's better than the bulk of the gastropubs open so far.

Michael Mina's new place at MGM (that replaced Seablue) is also a gastropub and it'll be open soon. I heard Moonan is closing the RM upstairs at MB to make way for a gastropub. This is definitely the current trend I hope one delivers.

I ate @ Public House-Venetian last fall. Good food and beer, and the bartenders were very friendly.

I walked all the way to the mall and back trying to find the place, hopefully signage is better this time :licklips:
