I got my first casino visit of the year off to a good start with a winning trip. It was planned as a comped overnighter (Sunday, Monday), split between two of the Indiana riverboats. First stop was a short visit to Rising Star. Spent about 2 hours on a couple of $5 table games but without any success, down about $200. Bummer. Went on down river to Belterra where I had a room reserved. I arrived about 2:45 PM long line at the front desk; on a Sunday. What the heck? A front desk clerk told some one on the phone they were sold out of their deluxe rooms, which is what I had reserved. Got my room fine but I was wondering what was going on. Then it dawned on me, holiday weekend, president’s day. The casino was packed but I was able to get on a Crazy 4 table and played until I got hungry. Colored up even and hit the buffet (freebie with coupon). After supper, I couldn’t find an empty seat on any of the tables I wanted to play (Crazy 4, 3 card, Ultimate Texas Hold’em), so I played around on the slots in the area if those tables., occasionally checking the tables. Then I stumbled on a new Superman penny slot. Hmm. By this time I had built up my $100 slot buy in to about $200. Fed it to the Superman slot and tried the Lex Luther option. I thought it was a $2.50 max bet (it was on the Superman option), so I played max bet. Got a monster spin that took me up to a little over $400. Wow! Then another one that pushed the win up to $607! What is going on here? I looked down and saw I was playing $25 a spin! WHAT? I promptly cashed out, took the money and ran. Cashed that TITO and that money lasted me the rest of the trip. By this time, there was an open seat at the Crazy 4 table, I sat down there again, bought in with $200, played the rest of the evening there. I cashed out with a purple and a couple of blacks a little after midnight and went to bed.

On Monday, I played some Ultimate Texas hold’em and dabbled with some more slots, but got nowhere. Wound up back on the Crazy 4 table in the afternoon (another $200 buy in) and did well. After a supper break, I sat back down at it, got a cell phone call. An ice storm was setting in at home. Crap. Asked the dealer to hold my seat and headed to the front desk to see if I could get a room on short notice. I could, comped. Fortunately, I had packed an extra change of clothes. Back at the table, I had a series of small heaters that took me up to $1000. Colored up 2 purples. Had a couple of blacks in my pocket from earlier and cashed them in at the cage and hit the sack. Tuesday was a little wild with the group I was playing with were a bit loud with a lot of joking around, a comical dealer, etc. Made for a good time. I made a couple of hundred bucks more before I went home.

My original bankroll got stashed in my luggage the first night and just used that $607 TITO, turning it into $1550 (after tips).
