Hello. I just found out I have the opportunity to make a quick trip to Vegas this weekend (last trip was in January). I could arrive on Friday, May 4 and stay until Monday, May 7. I usually stay at IP because it's cheap and the location is perfect. I noticed that rates this weekend were quite high for Friday and Saturday nights ($120+). Is there a big trade show this weekend that would cause even IP to be that expensive? Any other good deals that I'm missing? I typically spend most of my time in the Casino Royale/Flamingo/Harrah's/IP area.

I am familiar with all of the construction in that area, but that doesn't bother me too much. Any hot leads are appreciated. Thanks!!

Cinco de mayo, big fight and big motocross weekend and the kentucky derby all rates are going to be high.

Same problem here, but even with my low level play (can get some weekdays comped at CET, but never a weekend) I was able to book IP for May 5th-6th for $41.44 after tax. (booked early Feb)

Every weekend this May is expensive. I booked back in January, and usually as I get closer to the date I can find a better deal than the original booking. Not this year.

And May is always busy. Great weather in Vegas. Triple Crown races. Basketball and hockey playoffs. Memorial Day, Victoria Day in Canada, Mother's Day, a lot of college graduations, and a lot of weddings.

I like being there when there are crowds and a lot going on, but I fear that this year it will be too much!

Everyone, thank you. I didn't think about the NBA/NHL playoffs and the Derby. Makes sense. I'll keep digging.

Yea, I'm going the 19th, and I had to Priceline my room, ended up at the Trump. But got a pretty decent deal ($130)

I'm seeing a lot of places that aren't allowing your stay to start on a Saturday, so if you arrive the 19th it's even worse. Glad you got a good deal though!
