Here in the Mid-Atlantic we have a chain of stores similar to 7-11s. They are called Wawa and they're excellent. One of the many things they do right is that they have ATM machines that have no charge imposed for using them (if your own bank charges a fee you still have to pay that, but there is no charge on Wawa's end for withdrawing money). Are there any ATMs in Las Vegas that don't charge an ATM fee for using them?

Not to my knowledge - we have Kwik Trip in WI, MN etc that does the same. You can get additional cash it Walgreens with a purchase but normally the amount is very limited

Not to my knowledge. But the ATM at Casino Royale only charges a $1 fee (plus whatever your bank charges).

Great. $1 is fair. $6, like at many locations, just to retrieve my own money is not fair. Of course you do have to weigh convenience. Only one spot in town makes it a bit tougher. Thanks for the info guys.

if you can, just open a Capital One account, with $5000 balance they refund ATM fees up to $15 a month, and don't charge a fee themselves, and there are other banks like that. I would presume that that machine that charges $1 also has a low limit on withdrawals.

Wow, I hope some day I'll be able to just have $5000 sitting around somewhere to open an account like that...

Charles Schwab Bank. No minimum balance. Unlimited ATM fee reimbursement at the end of each month.

I use ATMs in casinos with wild abandon. Schwab is the best.

For creditcards most companies( creditcard co) charge a fee for getting money out of atm
I have found one where i dont have an extra fee( no 1 or 7 dollars extra, i dont know if this is same for usa residents though)

Theres a very large national network of credit union ATMs that are fee free as long as you have an account at a credit union - Not sure if any are actually on strip but I imagine there are dozens in Vegas. The casinos themselves probably make big money off of the fees so I don't think youll find anything free there.

I bank at Chase, here in WI. I bank at Chase in Vegas. Plenty of branches if you have a car. Plenty of Chase ATMs at CVS, and other locations.

I also bank with chase, per their website there is no ATMs on the CVS or Walgreens at the strip. The closest one is on the AMPM in front of the luxor.

If your ATM card is part of the Credit Union CO-OP network, there is a Westar Credit Union at the corner of Harmon and Audrie (behind Planet Hollywood) that has a fee-free ATM. Also, the ATMs in 7-11s are fee-free on the CO-OP network.

Thanks for the info. Looks like 3 alternatives: Large interstate bank, Credit union or Casino Royale when it comes to $0 (or close to $0) fees on money withdrawal. Personally, I used to use Bank of America for my business and just drive to one of their Las Vegas branches when I wanted to withdraw cash. But, since retiring, I started using a small local bank that has made truly free banking so attractive (no minimum balance, free checks always, no fees of any sort on the account or ATMs anywhere and personal phone calls if something looks out of whack with the account) that I have to stay with it. Looks like Casino Royale is my way to go for $1 charge. If things change, I'll try a local Credit Union.

One last option is the El Cortez. There ATM charges 3.50 but you take the receipt to the cage and they will give you a certificate for the fee will be added to your players club card as slot play. There is a chance that you can make money on the fee

A small amount from each check diverted to a separate account will add up quickly and you'll quickly adjust to your "new net pay". The idea that the $5000 will just be sitting around one day for you is, as you stated, not likely, so create the 5k!
