    Character building is good. :)

Wow this woman has my MIL beat by a long shot. She must really like you if she demanded to stay until Saturday.

Cooking while drinking - any stories? I'm a good drinker & good cook - I always get the meal on the table! (I typically just drink wine while cooking, and I guess I have a pretty high tolerance). I've been to more than one meal at my in-laws' house and if my MIL has more than 1 glass of wine, she can't finish dinner and my father-in-law has to step in. I just laugh :)

But I do then (according to my husband) have a habit of getting a little loud, and occasionally belligerent (usually when someone says something I disagree with - oops! In vino veritas, right?) So I have been trying not to drink as much while cooking or during dinner - I'll ramp it up as the evening ends....I don't want to be THAT family member!

Kill her with kindness (not literally) - and on your next gambling trip the casino genie will look on you favorably and you will be amply rewarded!!

I am trying my best... but also walking a fine line...

She is always yelling at my kid... she was teasing him the same way kids call him at school...calling him nasty.

He kept telling her stop cause the kids at school call him that... she would not...

I finally yelled at her and told her to stop.

Get onto Hotwire, rent a hotel room, drop her off. This woman is seriously sick in the head for torturing your little one.

That is a suggestion I am going to consider....

Luckily she demanded my wife leave her mom's Christmas tomorrow, so she can be driven 90 miles away to a cousins to stay for a few days. My MIL is soooo pissed off. Aunt yelled at me and said I should do it because my wife is pregnant. I told her I had plans to meet a friend (this is true) that I made 6 weeks ago to go to the local Harness track (Balmoral Park) that is closing down at least for next year but probably for good. Tomorrow is the last night.

She was messing with my kids presents, when clearly he did wanted to play with them... she took them away and said I am going to get your dad to punish you, and take all the presents Santa gave you away. I pulled little man to the side and said I won't just leave her alone and I love him.

This is the lady that I would leave my son with when I would go to Vegas, I am starting to really feel bad about that... and clearly I will never hop on a plane again to visit her.

Again I wanna thank everyone for allowing me to vent here because if I did not I would go all Clark W. Griswold on her and honestly I cannot do that around my kid at Christmas time.

Wanker - I gave you bad advice earlier - she needs to be thrown out like the dirty dishrag that she is - your son does not need that kind of twisted, evil in his life - thank god you stood up for him...she has gotta go before she causes long term trauma to a helpless, precious child..
    My sympathies and best wishes...

Dec 26 after my wife drove her all 2.5 hrs round trip to cousins.

She comes back tomorrow night. My wife is taking her to casino. The she is driving her can hour away to her brother's so she can watch his baby while they are at work. [His baby mama is getting her daughter from Texas] now why her brother is not picking her up is beyond me... he kinda sucks too.
