About a month ago I booked the two bedroom tower suite for my 30th birthday trip @ Mirage but soon after i realized i didn't want the suite and rather have more money to play with so i called mlife and just downgraded to a standard 2 queen room, well when i called Mlife to do that change i asked if they could give me a better deal on room rate so the lady said she will see what she can do for me and placed me on hold for about 5 minutes. she came back and said the host will be comping my stay for the weekend and wanted to meet me when i arrive... so my question is am i expected to play a certain amount or is this just a nice gesture from the host?

The room that was booked is for friday-sunday but i am actually coming in on thursday but staying with a buddy at his condo at veers. I will be gambling but won't be getting to crazy the first night, should i still use my mlife card? I don't want whatever ADT or Theo i have to take a hit since i won't be getting to crazy the first night and if i do use my mlife card will the host see i came in on thursday but played at Aria? I want mirage to be my home base and don't want to ruin anything.

Mlife does a per trip average rather than a per day ADT. This will still hurt your average but not as bad as it would to your ADT at a caesars property.

If you do not have a reservation and do not give a card then your play will not be added on Thursday. Without real numbers it is a bit tough. What type of difference are we talking? One thing to remember is that while average bet and time are important Theo is the underlying item. More theo is better than no theo at all when dealing with a host. Your host could care less if you played lower for a few hours if you made up for it the other days. When the computer calculates theoretical it does so by each individual table rating and not by average time and hours.

Wise words. Especially because you're not playing for Comps. Just have a good time and enjoy your birthday.

Yeah i want to just party and gamble. since the host is comping everything including resort fee... when i check out can the host change his mind and make me pay for the weekend? I use to get comps with CET properties without a host so having a host comp my stay is the first time for me.

Yes, you are expected to play a certain amount in order to comp your stay. It is conditional.
That's why the host wants to meet you when you arrive.

On the other hand, those offers sent out by Mlife or individual casinos are not conditional.
( Well, if you don't play, you future offers will be reduced, but current offer is not conditional.)

BTW, don't believe those words that the hosts usually say in the beginning: "don't worry, just charge everything to the room, we will take care of it."
What you really need to hear is what they say when you check out: "Sorry, your play was not enough to cover all the charges. I can't do anything more than (what I've already done)."

The host could take away your comps but unless you no play them that is unlikely to occur.
