Hello everyone! My name is Kelly and I'm a 42 year old woman currently living in Monterey, California. Vegas will always hold a special place in my heart as on my first trip there in 1999, I met my husband and then married him there a year to the date that we met in 2000. When we lived in Phoenix, we drove to Vegas at least every other month and every three day holiday weekend. It was only a five hour drive and was totally worth it for us at that stage in our life. As we have aged and since we have moved further away, our trips have gotten longer in length, but usually only once a year now. They are also more focused on touristy/relaxation type of things rather than the drinking and gambling of yesteryear. For a number of years it became centered around the Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon, but I think that is in the past since I no longer run like I used to. Over the years we have stayed at MGM, Aladdin, Luxor, NYNY, The Orleans, Sam's Town (though I had a horrible flu bug and never saw the casino that trip), Flamingo, Sunset Station, Tropicana, Venetian, Circus Circus, Golden Nugget, Four Queens, Fitzgerald's, El Cortez, Las Vegas Club, The Plaza, Binion's, Rio, Key Largo, and the Stratosphere . I might have missed a couple, but those are the bulk of them. We tend to favor downtown as we are very low rollers. We are currently counting down to our next trip in November where we will finally be staying at the Golden Gate. We have always wanted to but there always seemed to be something getting in the way on the day we reserved it, usually heading home early. I'm a big fan of trip reports, both writing and reading so I am very excited to find these forums. Okay, I guess I've written enough for now. I look forward to "meeting" and interacting with you guys.
