Hi everyone, heading to Vegas in December and to help with cost thinking of staying at the Excalibur, anyone know the difference between their resort tower queen rooms and their resort preferred queen rooms, thanks for any help. Also, any general thoughts of staying there ??

I stay there all the time. I only use it to sleep and shower so I don't need anything fancy.

The preferred resort room is slightly bigger. You may not even notice it vs the regular resort tower room.

The different rooms are Resort rooms and Royal rooms. Yhe Royal rooms used to be Tower 1, and are the most recently renovated, however the renovation was very poorly executed. Resort rooms are by far better.

The Preferred used to be the Deluxe, which adds a small seating area near the window (about 40 sqft extra).
Preferred vs regular is not worth paying for, but Resort vs Royal is

The Resort View rooms have a nice view of the strip (New York New York) if you are on that side. The Royal Tower rooms have been renovated if you want a newer feel to the room.

We have previously stayed at Bellagio, Vdara, Mirage and Bally's - we like trying the different hotels. Since we play lots of poker, we are not in the room that much.

We went this year from 30-May thru 8-Jun for the WSOP and stayed at the Excalibur - it was our 1st time and we wanted to try it. We got a King Room with large Soaker tub and it was all very nice, clean, quiet and the housekeeping was excellent. We played poker at night and slept during the days and housekeeping took care of us fine.

    Would recommend Excalibur.
