Looks like I will be taking wife and kids to Vegas in July instead of Florida.

Pros and cons of each one of those hotels please.

    Deposit/Resort fees?

Seems like Excal is a no brainer IMO. Never stated there but 4Q rooms are rather small, no pool on site.

Oh yes, I would be on the strip. Downtown is really not family like. Maybe even Circus Circus. Lots of kid stuff to do there.

I'd go Excalibur, too. Four Queens has no resort fee, so you're probably saving over $50 there but the pool is small and across the street and they don't have anything for kids. Excal has an arcade and the jousting show and fast food options. Also, 4Queens' two queen rooms sell out quickly, so you might already be stuck with two doubles.

If you are looking for cheapest option, 4Q should be much cheaper...

I would seriously review what you are going to do with the kids and make decisions based on that.

Excalibur has the fun dungeon for kids. NY NY is next door property with the roller coaster and more kids stuff in the roller coaster area.

I think you made a good decision. There's not much kids can do Downtown. Just wanted to add that you can walk over to NYNY and have them ride the roller coaster. They also have a small arcade up there too.

Yeah, I would go with excel too. Bathrooms are bigger and nicer. Plus you're in a good area on the strip. Another plus is by not staying downtown they won't be subjected to the endless onslaught of many of the 'not family friendly' street people on Fremont Street.
