Has anyone ever received a thing from them? Dinner, show, free room? I've heard they are pretty tight with these. Their website is no help on figuring out their 24 Karat Club points and what these are good for. It doesn't seem to work like TR where you can apply points to pay for meals.

I haven't stayed at the GN for about 3 years, but did so about 6-8 times a year for a couple years previous to that. I still get e-mails and printed offers (many with comps) 4-6 times a year or so. It actually seems like they've stepped things up a bit of late.

My experience from last year, on the last night of my trip, late in the evening, I spoke with the host on duty. I am pretty much a low-roller, so I don't have my own casino host. He looked up my play and I did end up getting three of my four nights comped. Now, that may be because I had a rather large, for me, losing session at the craps table earlier that night, along with some smaller losses at blackjack and let it ride. However, it is said that the only thing looked at is money put into action, not whether one wins or loses. I did tend to tip the craps dealers pretty well, as I was losing. I am pretty certain that helped in my average bet on the table. So, as I ramble, the key for me, last year was to charge everything to the room, and at the end of your stay, ask. Expect I will be doing so in the next week or so, as I am heading to the GN for four nights. Will let you know what I receive. Good luck.

They've never sent us free rooms up front, but have sent some decent discounts.

We were able to get some buffets and cafe dining comps out of them the last time we stayed there with not that much play.

I think the big thing is that they are effectively "the best" Downtown so they don't really need to be that liberal with the comps.

We stayed 2 nights back in March and signed up for the card...there was a boss rating our play on one night we were playing 3 card poker..we mostly do VP and slots, not high rollers by any means. We didn't think to ask when we checked out. We are returning this weekend for 2 more nights..I guess this time we will ask! We may have points from our March trip.

I have never received upfront comps, only the discounted mailers. As previously suggested, on the night before or morning of checkout, I have gone to the host office by the tiny Keno Room and spoken with the host on duty.

Each time, most if not all our rooms were deducted as were some incidentals like fitness center admissions.

    GN Comps

I've been really happy with the comps and treatment there. When we made the switch from MGM properties, I called and spoke to a host and told him what we were getting from MGM. He comped 2 nights upfront and evaluated when we were leaving - all nights and food were comped. I've been there 3 times in the last year and a half and are now RFB in a Gold Tower or Rush Tower Suite. Host is even covering an additional room for some family that will be coming with us in November. Much better comps and personal service at GN then we had on the strip.

I had a family get together at the GN. Some of my family members are big gamblers. My husbands nephew was playing BJ at $2,000 a hand and he played all night. I think his father was also betting big. At one point he was up alot but he had to much alcohol and gave it all back and then some. The next day the GN loved the whole family. They offered everyone suites, food and a limo for the rest of the trip for all of us.

I also have a good friend that stays at GN at least once a month for years. He says he does not get anything. I am not sure if he is not fessing up or if he just does not ask for anything. I know he bets big and is not lacking in money.

We were looking for change of pace about half a dozen years ago, so one of the places we had on our list was the GN. I played craps there twice in six months and they started sending mail offers for rooms and fp. The offers have been regular ever since, and we stay three comp nights twice a year and are quite happy in the Rush Tower.

I have been staying there comped for years. They dont send out mailers with free rooms often unless your an established player with them. They prefer the gamble and see the host on duty before checkout method. I find they are fairly generous in wiping out all the charges when doing this. I also find the pit bosses are very easy to good food comps if you ask. $5 bet table players will get a free buffet if they ask.

GN seems to hate our quarter Bonus Poker VP play. We used to regularly get mailers from them offering comped stays and some food but over the last 5 years the offers have gotten worse and worse.

We now get a regular mailer offering discounted rooms and that's it.

We have stayed a few nights there a couple of times and our play was enough to get some of the room nights comped and in some cases all 3 nights and some food.

    But the shitty offers continue.

Like Royal Flasher, I used to get free room mailers ALL the time. At the time I was a $25-$75 BJ player with an average of 4 hours a day. I used to go to their tournaments on a regular basis. Comped entry and room. Over the past few years all that has dried up.

One of my mistakes could have been the last few times I redeemed some room and free play offers just for the free play $$ but didn't stay in the room, or gamble there for any length of time.
