vpFREE2.com shows some good video poker at the Eureka LV. It looks right to me but it's been awhile since I have been there. http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/eureka-casino

Does the casino have their own logo chips? $1 or $5? I collect chips but never visited this place to see if they have chips.

I will say, Guy Fieri ruins every restaurant he visits on that show. There was a nice Salvadorean hole-in-the-wall type restaurant near my old office. One episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and boom, they totally sold out.

Point taken. Maybe I was too strong -- I've been to a couple, but haven't been to 17. I'm probably just bitter about losing one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants to tourists/DDD enthusiasts.

When akhoya said "ruins", I took that to mean (extrapolating from the rest of the post) from the increased traffic flow due to increased popularity. I think that's a valid point. I've been to a ton of Triple D and Man v Food restaurant locations and the lines, even after reruns can be insane. Pop Culture is a powerful thing.

See I thought you were saying ruin as in the place sucked and closed down after he came. My bad.

My wife and I are foodies and like to try all the places that have been on TV. This is the site we use http://www.tvfoodmaps.com/

So I went by this place this morning. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole operation. Nice clean, what looks like it would be well-lit, parking lot in back. Attractive building with nice curb appeal. The casino (gaming area) is small with a lot of mirrors to give the illusion of being larger. I went by at 10:30 a.m. and Fat Choy doesn't open till 11 a.m. The restaurant is in the corner and is very nice-looking and clean. There's a good-sized rectangular bar with bar top gaming and flat-screen TV's as well. Nothin' special, but the place was clean and anything but a dive. It would be an easy walk from the SLS. Behind the parking lot are the standard sleeze-bag apartments that are found in so much of central Las Vegas and I'm sure this place sees their share of the seedy area inhabitants. All in all, the Eureka is a place I wouldn't think twice about visiting... it exceeded my expectations.

As far as gaming goes, they have me at 9/6 quarter Boner Deluxe with a progressive. :evillaugh My bigger concern is what exactly would we want to eat at this restaurant?

The pay tables were commensurate with what I generally see at a "locals" joint and much better than the strip, but I don't obsess over such things. With regards to what to eat at the restaurant, I'd refer you back to the original post that the Fat Choy restaurant was featured recently on the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives TV show on the food network and EVERYTHING they made looked great, as well as Westie's post contained in the thread as well. Personally, the short-rib grilled cheese caught my fancy.

That doesn't look bad to me either from westie's pic, but I've dealt with fatty ribs a good amount, and I hate that enough to avoid ribs completely. When I look at the menu online, I started to lean toward breakfast, which was only on Sunday morning, correct? That still could work out since we will have to switch rooms that day anyway...

Yes - an all day breakfast is served on Sundays only beginning at 9AM.

We have had this on our list of places to try for a long time. Finally made it there in May. Food was awesome! We had the pot stickers (very good), pork belly bao (awesome), short rib grilled cheese (awesome), and sesame noodles (really great). They let us split up the 4 items onto 2 bills so we could each use an LVA coupon. My mouth is watering just remembering it and we can't wait to get back there again in October.

The casino itself is as described in previous posts - small, clean, etc. We didn't spend much time there, but did wander around a bit. Nice mix of newer and older slot machines. Some video poker as well. We didn't really check pay tables though - rely on vpfree2 for that information.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it at all, and can't wait to return.

    Cheers,
    Kelly

Ok going to make a stop here in under two weeks. I just realized I drove right past it when I left SLS on the way to get more Gray goose. I know where it is now and will a stop for some duck and pork belly Bao.
