Jameezy’s thread (http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94539) got me thinking about M Resort. It’s one of those places that I’d like to check out but never do. So, provided I find the motivation to leave the strip (and go somewhere other than downtown) during my fall trip, what would be my best option for transportation out there?

I figure a Towncar would be about $100 round trip (plus tips); though having to set up a specific time to leave in advance would be a bit of an inconvenience. How much cheaper would a cab be? Are cabs readily available like they are from strip casinos? Or would I need to call one?

I see that M Resort has a shuttle that picks up at FSM, which would be quite convenient from Encore. Of course, like with the limo option, I’d have to deal with a predetermined time of departure. And their website says it is only for those staying at M. Anyone know how diligent they are in checking for room keys?

I know that a rental would be the cheapest option. But a sampling of the wares at 32˚ Draft would be a given. And after sleeping on the Wynn Dream Bed, I can’t imagine a cot at the Clark County Jail would be terribly comfortable. Besides, if you go to jail in Vegas, you want it to be for something more exciting than blowing .09 after making an illegal U-turn, right?

    Many Thanks!

A word of caution, I have been to LV about 12 to 15 times, never had a prob with cabs bouncing around strip or to and fro airport. This last trip we stayed at Sunset Station in Henderson and our long haul average was about 50% I feel like I spent way too much time arguing w cabbies about taking the wrong route. If you do elect to take cabs, make sure you know your route and voice it to your cabbie.

Carve - A few yrs back we took a cab down to check out M and if my memory serves me correctly, it was $45 each way....the M is quite a ways down plus maybe he screwed me too. Unless it's a quick jaunt say from Encore to Bellagio, I find another mode of transportation these days. I hate cabs. Most are dirty and they drive like $hit. I'd do the town car or limo if it was me. Not that much more and you can drink all you want and you don't have to listen to complaining or be concerned w/ being long hauled.

While I know this may not be exactly what you're looking for....across the street at the Fashion Show Mall, M Resort has a shuttle they run to and from the property. I've read here on VMB that people who are not hotel guests have been able to use the shuttle, so that might be a viable solution for at least half your trip if you want to be economical. :peace:

ETA: Skadoo needs to learn reading comprehension better. I've not tried the shuttle but reports have led me to believe they are not dilligent.

I stayed at the M last year and I took a cab from the M to Sams, I know that's a lot further and a different route, but it was $60. Next day I cabbed it to South Point that was $9; M to Silverton was $13, SO since those are within 5-6 miles, I would say Encore is a little over double that so my GUESS would be $25-$30. But I know it was said, they do have the shuttle from the Fashion Show Mall, just check out their website for the times. It wasn't too bad, I took it home one night took about 15-20 mins and a $5 tip!

    Encore to M

Its about 14 miles. Not sure on exact fees, but I think its about a $3.00 pick up fee with average mile being $2.50. Heres where it gets fun. Stop lights and waiting you get charged. Im assuming you will average $3.00 per mile, but depending on time of day, it will be closer to $4.00.

It's really hard to long haul someone to M. It's right on the highway. It cost me $35 cab fare including tip from the south strip. From Encore you'd definitely be looking at north of $40 each way.

Thanks for the info, gang. Doesn't sound like a cab would be much cheaper than a limo. I suppose I'll either get a Town Car or maybe check out the shuttle and see if they'll lt me ride it.

If it was me, I would take the FSM shuttle to the M and then grab a cab back at my leisure. But chances are, even if I planned on taking the shuttle round trip I would get impatient and pick up a cab anyway

I don't think I saw Jameezy's thread so this may have been covered, but if you earn a few points (I think 300) you get a free buffet, and at The M that is a nice deal. I did it a couple weeks ago & enjoyed it as always.
