I'm hoping to be at the El Cortez this Tuesday thru Thursday. My question is, what's the best way to redeem comp points when using the 2-4-1 coupons. I know they always ask what points do I want to use when I'm at the cashier.

Also, do they still have the ATM reward deal going?

Seems like the ATM promo is still in effect plus another bonus of $10-$1,000 free play for $200+ jackpots. . . .

I'm still looking for information on the most frugal way to redeem the points.

    Don,

Please update us with what you find out re: ElCo points. I believe everyone has two comp accounts. One that is strictly for comps and the other which is points you can redeem for freeplay. I've been told at the cashier that the "comp" account is where they pull from, but they can use points too though it is more cumbersome. I would think you would just activate the 2-4-1 at the cashier and just pay the balance with your comp account, but I have not done this.

If you're asking about 241 dining coupon. You should use comp dollars not points. I like them because you can use it for 50% of 1 meal. Use points for food when you have no coupon.

You have two comp accounts; One is points, one is comp dollars. I'd use the comp dollars @ the coffee shop and use the points for when I need free slot play. That's what I'd do.

Stick your card into any slot machine & it will tell you, both your points & your comp $$$.

I thought you could only use the 2-4-1 coupons with cash. Anybody have any actual knowledge of using the coupon with their comp points?

I was an El Cor regular before the great purge and I have definitely used the 241 coupons with points. I leave it to the cashier to use points or comp dollars...they seem to do whichever is in your best interest, but they always ask first.

We have run into problems with the ACG coupons and points at The Flame; seems that one is an either/or situation.

If you get their monthly mailers the 241 coupons are not actual coupons-you have to redeem them at the slots club. You don't actually need the coupons at all, just ask the slots club what offers you have available. The exceptions are the Subway/Seattle's Best coupons, you need to present those at the restaurant counter.

We used the 2 4 1 and charged to the room. We had $100 food credit between the two of us and didn't come close to using it all. The prime rib was fantastic on the first day but the next day it wasn't quite as good but still good. The EC is a great place if you don't need the Strip type atmosphere. I'll do a trip report next week, this week we're going on a four day cruise.
    I LOVE being retired.

I always use comps with the 241. If you use your points it's a worse deal. The cashier explained it to me a long time ago. I don't remember exactly how she put it. But if I remember correctly using points with 241. Is like not even having the coupon taken off.

If you pay with points only (not comp $) at the restaurants there is a discount, but I don't recall the exact percentage. I think it is 15 or 20%.

I have used the ACG up to $25 off coupon at the Flame combined with both comp dollars and points credit as recently as January this year. I didn't get the extra discount, but I knew that going in. The tip was bigger than my bill.

    Have fun & good luck!
