I understand El Cortez has a no guest policy, and on busy weekends they enforce this with a wristband?

Does this include all towers, including the tower and Cabana towers?

I'm just back after staying there on 12/8 and then again on 16/8 to 19/8(over the weekend) and nothing was said to me about no guest and I didnt have to wear a wristband, I was in a vintage room first night then a cabana room for the last 3 nights of my stay.

I have read here though that they had security checking that no guests got up the stairs during the EDC in June but I also stayed at the El Cortez a few weeks before this and had no issues then.

The $25 wristband seems to be well discussed on Yelp... looks like they mean business.

It looks like the wristband thing was only for a weekend or two when the punk rockers were in town, I'll be there in 10 days and will report back if it exists or not.

The wristband thing was strictly over whatever the House Music - Pill Popping festival goes through there in the Summer. Probably smart on their part.

    Precisely.

These boys and girls come to town and cram 15 or 20 people into a room or more. They sleep in the bathtubs, under the beds, on top of the beds... wherever they can fit people. Guess they'd rather buy drugs with their money than spend it on more comfortable digs.
