According to their website, I can earn 1 point for $1 in slot or VP play. At my local CET casino, I need $5 in slot or $10 for VP for 1 point. I am not sure about the play need for the other downtown properties

    1) Is there a catch? Is it really 10x easier to earn points at the EC?

    2) The site also says 500 EC pts = $1 in cash back. Is it the same factor to change them into comp dollars?

    3) If I earn 2,000 EC points in a day, I will get that night's stay comped. What points are required for a comped room at the 3 Boyd properties? What about the Plaza or any of the other downtown properties?

Since I am not getting my room comped upfront for my trip, I am trying to figure out where to stay. Also I am trying to figure out where I can get the most comps for my play. I will mostly play VP, but will also play BJ and Craps.

500 points would mean 500 bucks coin in for 1 dollar in comps at el cortez

5 dollar coin in for one point at CET means 500 coin in for 1 buck in comps. The comp payback is the same.

I was in El Cortez playing BJ 200 a hand for about 4-5 hours one night and they only gave me about 70 bucks in comps and wouldn't even comp me the cafe for dinner or hand me a host card.

The el - cortez actually has two kinds of comps, the first is the pts that you earn for playing slots - it's 500 pts = $1 as mentioned, the second is a separate "comp" account that builds from table games and slots as well I believe.

I play mostly Bj and never earn any pts from the play, but I do earn comps that can be used for meals/rooms.
