Really enjoyed your trip report. I'll add this and hope you and your beautiful don't take exception. While reading your report on my iPad, my wife walked by and said "why is Charles Durning (actor) and Paula Dean together in that picture?" I laughed and thought to share.....

Yes, it's a little bit of a small venue for him in my opinion. The room was packed, and the seating is on both sides, we were siting at the bar which wasn't a great view, there were folks packed around both entrances, and as you can see, behind him.

Durning is a hell of a lot better than I usually am compared to!

As far as Paula Deen, I don't think I'll show my wife that! She's been very disappointed with Paula, after we ate at her resturaunt in Tunica, at Harrah's.

This is funny, I decided to share it with her and she freaked!

It seems that the day before, her doctor's receptionist said that she looked like Paula Deen.

Maybe she should start doing the cooking.

I have been to some questionable buffets in my time but PD's in Tunica this past December was pretty lousy..I am in the business and sent Harrah's a letter detailing some complaints about it.They replied and was told to print the email and try them again..No Thanks..
Meanwhile the room service at the Harrah's hotel across the street was perfect for the price and same quality as the Rio in Las Vegas.I was just shocked that a buffet so prominently featured by Harrah's,with the store etc. seemed to have fallen into neglect..
Sorry to hijack your TR,but just wanted to agree with the Mrs's take on the buffet and she is probably 100% correct!!

Great report. Liked your comment about what most would consider the low class buffets. I guess it must be a basic midwestern thing - I like food I recognize and can spell & pronounce. So a basic buffet with normal food is great for me. I'm a bit above you in the western part of Wisconsin but my aunt & uncle in law are right across the road - he retired from AMC/Chrysler & they were in Kenosha too. Small world!

Agree with you about AC Decatur buffet for lunch - it is one of my hidden gems.
Thanks for the report and all the details.

    Dave,

Thanks for the report. I'm born and raised in K town now living in Racine. Your trip sounds just like my wife and I!! Get up early gamble until wife is ready then eat.... repeat.

Also I have a Capo's coupon.... Should I use it or pass on this place?

What was your uncle's name? my wife seemed to know everyone! At one time while we worked there, 14,000 were employed so I don't claim to know everyone.

I didn't mind the place, but I'm not an afficcionado of Italian. You should go and make your own judgement. The place was packed on a week night. And I left out some of the fun things, as not to spoil it.

Of course the next day after I told her, this picture was in the rag she reads:

    <img src="http://www.acronet.net/~dgroves0/pauladeen.jpg" width="388" height="648"> <p>

It speaks for itself. She was grumbling under her breath.

I also am from Wisconsin---I'm living in the "GM" town--former anyhow. I too, am just satisfied with the typical, easy buffets. I'm no High Roller. I just don't understand some of these people from the far West/East coasts. Seems like they expect food for Kings and Palaces when they get to Vegas--I'm not saying all but, some. Great trip report. I use coupons books, magazines as soon as I land, haven't used MyVegas yet but, at 80,000 lps right now. The last time I was there, I was talking to people at Sams Town-They just LOVE us BADGERS--we're friendly, easy to please and we know how to drink and gamble!!! Hahahaha!!! Good Luck!
