OK yes I got your attention and yes prob off the wall thread but oh well...

I just noticed in my favorite grocery that my favorite dozen of large brown eggs is 1.00 in past months it's always been 2.25...hell a regular dozen white usually was at 1.85 now it's .95cents...
And this isn't sale prices..sorry just is baffling

Production has finally been increased after last years bout with bird flu killed millions of chickens.

I do wonder how the movement to cage free chickens for egg production will affect prices in the next few years as a lot of companies will be switching over to those.

Plus, with Easter over, the eggs they didn't put on sale before the holiday are marked cheaper before they hit that sell by date.

I'm noticing fresh grocery prices on meat going down across the board. Chicken breasts, steak, and hamburger are all decreasing in non-sale price. Not an egg buyer, so I can't speak to that.
