Has anyone from the board tried the new place called Eat? It opened recently and seems to get really good reviews.

Nope. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll have to add this to my itinerary. The menu sure looks good!

We very seldom get downtown but I do like the idea of a nice independent non-chain place opening!

I plan on having breakfast there in the next few days and will include a summary in my TR.

Looked at their yelp rating. Pretty solid 4 star rating with 29 reviews. The pictures of the huevos multados and shrimp and grits with bacon and eggs are enough to get me to go, looks amazing. Annoying that the menu doesn't list prices.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard of this place but it looks good. Nice website too. Just made my short list for new places to try on the next trip.

Love all the new places to eat.

I will be going to Las Vegas next week and will try to check the place out and report back to let people know what I thought of the place. I am staying at the El Cortez and Eat is only a block away.

Speaking of new places, I have to put a vote in for LA THAI right on Fremont across from the El Cortez. Great food, high quality and quantity, plus the prices are reasonable. Hint: Lunch specials are even more reasonably priced. It is good to support the local places.

I hit this place twice. First for lunch (they do not serve breakfast after 11am), I got there at 11:05, then breakfast. Lunch was good (grilled cheese), but the breakfast (truffled egg sandwich) was amazing. It is indeed a short walk from El Co, at the corner of 7th and Carson. I'll put together a full write-up soon.
