    Hi, everyone,

I may have to go Vegas for three weeks of training on my own dime. I'm considering Easy Click Travel for El Cortez and/or Americas Best Value Inn or Holiday Royale Suites. Does anyone have any advice, complaints, or things I should know about?

    Thanks,

    Schwaiguy

There was mention of smartervegas.com as a good starting point. I had never looked there so I picked a week in october at random and checked at my usual starting point, Kayak.com. Not much there! So I tried Smareter.. then you had to click on others. I clicked on Booket.com and Booking.com which I have used before and liked.....not much there. So then I thought of the great deal I got at El Cortez and tried EasyclickTravel.com and, sure enough a great deal on EC's Vintage rooms or Tower Rooms for $4.00/night more. I have used them and there was no problem.

Howsever, be careful with El Cortez. A couple of years ago they decided that people who stay longer than 7 days weren't gambling enough. So they would give you a deal on a room 1-7 days but if you booked another night or more the price went up $25 per night.....even the original 7!!! I am not sure about discounters...most don't offer it if your days exceed 7. I dont know what there arrangement is with discounters. You might want to call the hotel direct and ask about it and also EasyClick. For 3 weeks you could always stay at 3 hotels, finishing with EC for a shuttle ride to the airport. Let us know how you make out.

I have also stayed at ElCo Tower Rooms on a booking through EastClick. Everything went smoothly and the price was excellent! Like Jimbo said, you might need to move around a bit to get the best rates. When I booked, EasyClick also had rock bottom rates for the Four Queens. That would be an easy move.

Was your stay at the El Cortez over 7 days? I assumed that if the EC would not sell more than 7 days without a penalty that they would not allow their brokers to either, and I seldom see EC come up if the stay exceeds 7 on the search engines. It would be good to clear it up. I hope ECT is reselling rooms in february again.....I am hoping for 10 days 9 nights and figure perhaps staying at 4 Queens, Downtown Grand or Gld Spike, then finish at EC if I have to do it that way.

You might want to consider renting a time share condo, if you know someone who owns a timeshare and uses an exchange service like RCI or Interval International, these places are always renting unused weeks at a discount. Or, check out ebay, you can buy a rental week there.

Thanks guys for the info. I was called in for a meeting early this morning, only be told that there was a local hiring freeze. This makes Vegas that much more appealing.

I don't know anyone there good enough to let me stay with them. So, my idea is to do easy click for El Cortez and Americas Best Value staggered like 4 nights each, probably with some priceline mixed in.

I'm worried about the noise of the Fremont Street experience at the Four Queens. Training is M-F 8-5.

Don't forget Hotwire, at least they will advise of any resort fees. I have recently stayed at a few Extended Stay America's through Priceline, they have really improved their properties, it no longer has that feeling of being in a prison. They actually provide a bar of soap and shampoo along with a packet of coffee and breakfast muffin in the morning.

I did two weeks last year and stayed at El Co for 5 of those, that was plenty for me. I stayed in a timeshare the second week. An Extended Stay or timeshare, really something with a kitchen is really the way to go. Some timeshare rentals even have washer/dryers. El Co is a bit too grimy for me to stay more than two nights. The Cabana rooms are sure to be nicer.

I guess it depends on your budget, but I think you can an extended stay for about $40 a night.

Airbnb.com might be an option as well for cheap long term options.

Not sure yet. I was supposed to be notified today. . .

I'm not even sure if I'm officially in.

Actually, this may turn out to be a non-issue.
