Seems pretty clear from the downtown topics and posts that most of us must fit the stereotype (middle-aged and up). Maybe because of that, I don't see any topics devoted to bars/clubs beyond the FSE.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about these places? Any good recommendations and/or experiences?

I'm beyond the point of being interested in the night clubs on the strip, but go to Vegas enough to occasionally want something other than the casino environment for a drink. My choice downtown (East Fremont) is The Griffin. Way different atmosphere than anything I've seen in Vegas (a grotto theme). Quite cozy upfront, with a friendly (somewhat "goth" style) bar staff and mostly local clientele. I've not been there late at night, but it can get very crowded on Fri/Sat, at which time they have a back room with music.

Ok, I'll admit to being middle-aged.

Yes, I have to agree we liked The Griffin as well. We wanted to go to Don't Tell Mama and The Beauty Bar but they weren't open for the evening yet the day we went.

I grudgingly admit to my age, but I don't feel it!

I've had a great time at the Beauty Bar, the few times we stumbled in there. It's kind of a retro-kitsch motif and they'll have a good band some evenings. I don't think they open until 9 or maybe even 10. LOL, the bouncer insisted on a hug when we left. :)

There's also another place, can't remember the name and I'm not sure if it's still there, around the corner from Beauty Bar. Looks like they intended it to be more of an ultra lounge but it ended up being just a bar-bar. :) A group of us had a very enjoyable evening in there, whatever they call the place. :)
