When we go to Vegas in June we are going for a week and we are hotel hopping. We are staying at Aria the first two nights but we get in at 8:30 p.m. so no worries there...

Does anyone know how easy it is to check in early at Caesars/Mandalay? When we leave the last hotel to go on to the next it will probably be mid to late morning (11 a.m). Do they often check you in early for free no problem as long as the rooms are ready or not typically? Will they charge you extra? Will they hold your luggage for you? I wouldn't want to be stuck with luggage for hours waiting around the casino for our room? I know years ago they held our luggage at other hotels but I'm wondering how it works now.

    Any info would be great.
    Thanks!

There's normally a fee to check-in early but they always will let you so long as a room is available.

Almost every hotel I know of has an area where they will hold your luggage for you until you come pick it up. Just ask information where it is.

Last year the CET properties started charging a fee for checking in early, $25 before noon and $15 before 3pm.

We hotel hop all the time. We normally ask for a late check out at the hotel we are leaving and get till noon free of charge. We get a cab to the next hotel and if the room isn't ready we leave the luggage with the bell desk and go off somewhere or hanging around playing slots.

    How about

Are you able to go to the pool without being checked in to a room? My guess is no?

No you need the room key to get into the pool - at most hotels.

A good trick is to keep a room key from every hotel you stay at so you'll be let into their pools anytime you're in Vegas and want to go again. ;)

Please don't do this. It's not like the pools aren't already crowded. :rolleyes2:

Hotels need to start cracking down on this! Only paying guests should be allowed, especially when it's busy.

I've never had to pay for early check in at MGM properties. Checked in to Aria at 8am on a Friday last October no problem, just depends if a room is ready.

I never heard of paying for early check-in.
If flexible simply ask for what rooms they do have available. Usually it will be on the lower floor with no view.

You could do a couple of things before you check in if you want to avoid the early check-in fee, this is for CET:

If you are relevant (like Diamond....lol), and arrive at 11 am and they have a room ready, you will probably be waived in, especially Sun-Fri.

If you are not relevant (like us scum bags who are only Gold), you can check in your bags to the Valet to hold until 4 pm (please be sure to tip a couple of bucks).

You can also have the Valet hold your bags till 4 pm AND have the check in clerk give you a temporary pool pass (i have done this a couple of times), the Hotel will know you are staying there, the hotel knows if they can't get the money from an early check in fee, they assume they will get some money from drinks, food, whatever from pool employees.

I did this at Caesars last summer, i arrived at about 1:30 pm, i knew i had to wait till 4 pm because i am "frugal"..........i asked a lovely young lady (she really wasn't lovely but i was smiling, and that's the bottom line). I asked her if i could check out the topless babes at the Venus pool (well, that's what i was THINKING), and she gave me a pass....LOL.

Some hotels scan the key at the pool entrance. Inactive key = no entrance to the pool area.

There are so many answers to this question. Some hotels charge for early check in, some don't. Some that do, will still let you check in without a fee if you are lucky. Some hotels will give you a room number so you can start charging stuff to your room even if you cannot go to your room because it is not clean yet.

The earliest I was able to check into a room was 6:00 am. I didn't even try, I just asked the check in desk if the bell desk was open since there was no one there, and she gave me a room.

One time at the Venetian, I was not able to check in until 5:00 pm, and they gave me a $100 restaurant voucher as an apology.

No two experiences will be alike.

The hotels have a right to charge you however it is up in the air if they will or not. Its probably based on what mood the desk rep is. I know when I booked Flamingo for August, their disclosure said an early check-in is $33.60 or an odd amount like that. Sure its the same at Caesars.

Can't say at Caesars but we always arrive early at Mandalay Bay or THEHotel whichever we are staying at and as long as a room is available we have had no problems nor charges for early check in. But we usually arrive around 8-9AM not later in the day like you mention.
