Hey Folks. Heading out in a few days. I have never arrived early in the day. We will get to Ballys around 11:30A.M on Sunday. What are the chances of getting a room that early? Also, what kind of upgrade can I expect?

    Thanks!

I've tried this. It's a clusterbleep that time of day as check out is at 11AM. If you have Platinum or Diamond card, it may be okay as those lines are shorter. Otherwise, I would wait until the lines get under control.

#1 issue is how many rooms were left from saturday night - empty. They will gladly give you one of those.

If they were full Sat night and cleaning is behind schedule - probably even on schedule - it is gonna be difficult.

That may be a problem due to you checking in on a weekend, unless housekeeping gets rooms ready early you may have to wait until 3:00 pm. We never had a problem checking in early sometimes as early as 8:30 am during the week especially on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings.

We've never had a prob at Bally's...they have a couple of "check in" lines and all the rest are "check-out". That early in the AM - there shouldn't be a lot of folks waiting to check in. Those clerks will work on the people checking out but take anyone in their designated line next. Good luck!

i'll also be checking in on sunday, we either can check in around 9:30 am (which i highly doubt they will let me do) or checking in around 3pm (still considered early since 4pm is the check in time). so i am interested in finding out if people have much success checking in early.

last year, we didn't get to check in until 6:30, and the clerk said the hotel was full due to a convention checking in earlier and couldn't give us any upgrades . there is a convention checking in this sunday as well, so i hope to get a nice room.

The question of early check in comes up often. Most hotels (not all) allow checkins early. Many have reported getting into their rooms as early as 8am. This assumes they have empty and clean rooms available. Hotels advertise 3 or 4pm so people do not expect rooms before they are available. Sundays are generally a bad day for early check in due to busy sat nights.

I have checked in to Bally's as early as 9:00am.

    Never on Sunday, however.

yeah, that's kinda what i was thinking. most people are checking out on sunday from a weekend of fun. oh well. i'm not really worried since we're pretty low maintenance when it comes to rooms. is it clean? ok, then we're good. i always ask for a fridge though because we like to keep some alcohol and mixers in the room. it's not enough for me to stress about, but i am just curious how early i can pull it off. i might try the 9:30 time. what's the worse that can happen? they say no.

yeah, i figure the sunday check in is a bit different....

Most of our trips are Sunday - Friday and have checked in at Bally's & Paris as early as 9am without an issue....maybe there were no conventions so they had a few rooms available. I've found that early on Sunday we've had good luck getting an upgrade. Seems like they "hold open" some really nice rooms, just in case - for bigger gamblers that sometimes don't get used on Saturday nite. We've even been given nice suites when we just had a regular room reserved. Good luck!

I know that this convention is starting on Sunday:

Association of Professional Piercers Annual Conference & Exposition

    YIKES!

But they only have it listed as 1000 people and Ballys has 3200 plus rooms. No big deal if we don't get in until later, just curious.

    Early check in

I have 5 nights booked at harrah's in Oct. on my conformation it states that early check in is $28. Has anyone had this charged to them when they have gotten in a room early. Our flight arrives at 9:00am and I will have my cooler with medication. Hate to have to check that.

In my experience, the fees are to guarantee ahead of time that you will be able to check in early. The times that I have arrived early and inquired if we could go ahead and check in, I've never been charged, and have had about an 80% success rate of being able to check in early.
