I apologize to myself and to all of you...

I honestly was just going to play a few hands while I drank a drink I made at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River casino. I literally said out loud, please don't get it, please don't get it. Got it. Wade laughed at me.

    Shit.

Congrats on the Royal and the $250 win. However, you know what we are going to say - quarters, max play, $1.25 = $1000 minimum for a royal

Every time I've been sitting next to someone that this happens too says the same thing "I never thought I'd hit a royal, I was only going to play for a few minutes". One time when I was in laughlin a guy did it next to me and the progressive royal was at like $2,000+ - his wife walked up and saw what he did and she punched him so hard it almost knocked him out.

Basic Rule of Gambling - Always play max coins.

Yes. Very painful. So painful I'm hoping I get so drunk that a security guard knocks me out. For who knows what. But Earl is going for it!

Ouch. I've had some close calls doing this, but they have never came though. And from the title, I sorta expected to see it. At least it was dollars!

Not always, imo. Given the location, I wouldn't be surprised he made the better long term choice by playing $1 vs five quarters. I would be impressed if quarter DDB there was 9/5. If quarters is 8/5 or worse, you're better off playing 9/6 dollars at one credit long term. Also VP machines machines just spit out random cards based on the exact times you hit the deal/draw button. If he was playing max, very unlikely that he gets a royal.

Half of the reason I'm pointing this out is to make them possibly feel better. But I probably still would be about as pissed as my $56 penny royal breaking my 35-month royalless streak last year. :vomit:

I love my husband, but think I might have to punch him too. But he knows better!

I physically cringed when I saw which pay table was highlighted. Ouch.

...OK, would you actually count that as a personal Royal or just a painful memory of what could have been.....Not sure how to ask the question...it just seems "tainted" since it was not at max coins. I can tell you every detail about my 2 royals (max coin quarters) but I think this would only be a "take it from me" moment...

...as we say in my line of work...sorry for your loss...
