My wife and I both really liked DTG, but after getting quoted high rates when we had offers there, and then all offers disappearing. I booked the Cal for the start of our trip. We like to end our trips at Silverton's but never got a mailer, I did book the last two nights at casino rate, figuring I could switch to free when I got a mailer. I finally called to ask, 20% off and fifty free play was the answer. Plus 14.55 resort fee.

I wasn't too happy with this since we haven't paid for a room there since our first visit. So we were talking about it last night, we could stay at Sam's Town or Luxor free or get bogo at 4Q's or the D

So my wife says you know we both won at Silverton's last time, I don't really remember doing great there but I don't argue with my wife's memory over mine she's proven me wrong many times. So maybe their spanking us for winning?

Then she says I wonder if the DTG has our points messed up, every day she had to go to the players club and get it reset it was going back to 0 she said we weren't old enough to stay at Sam's again and that she really didn't like Luxor.

So I called and talked to the players club at DTG, they said that there were problems with the system and transferred me to a host she looked at our play last trip and said she could see where it was reset a number of times but it still didn't make sense too her. So she looked at our previous stays play and asked what I was looking for, two nights November 25-27 no problem, she sent a confirmation email and we're set. I should have asked what was up with valet. Or maybe for some free play and food comps lol

So next trip is set 3 nights at the Cal on a buy two get one.....so about 80 + tax.
2 nights at Sunset Station free thru myvegas.
    2 nights at DTG.......comped.
Hopefully they still have free coffee.

I had this same issue at DTG. My points were constantly being screwed up and being erased. They said it was an issue with people staying in the hotel. I called to check and got no help and have no offers as well.

I was surprised we got something, it was my wife that talked me into calling again. We'll see what happens after this trip, but I really hope they get their shit straight because I do like the place.

We played at the Downtown Grand earlier this week. They are now playing 60s and 70s music at volumes approaching those downstairs at The D. I think they've got a demographic mix-up. If you go upstairs at The D they play that sort of music at much softer volumes.

As for Sam's Town, until earlier this year we thought it was for the living dead. But then we took the shuttle from the Cal and found great video poker and a $5 Pai Gow table. Now we go there at least once every time we stay downtown. We'd consider staying there if things continue getting more expensive and odds continue to worsen downtown.

I was able to get a generous room comp by emailing a host as well. The only downside is having to give almost all of my play to the Grand because I dont recall their slot floor being the greatest. I just hope they have the Quick Hits reels vs the newer video variations.

I played craps there last Thursday and actually won $300 BUT when I went to the cage I had to wait over 5 minutes as they only had one cashier and the folks at the window were doing that canadian promotion. When they finallt\y finish there were 4 people behind me.

It was Marty that helped me out, she was very nice and it surprised me how fast she understood the situation and straightened it out. I don't think I was on the phone for more than 2 minutes with her.
After I got off the phone it hit me, that I most likely could have gotten more but that's fine.
The employees are generally great there, except for one bartender that's a tool. The rest have been great.

The music was deafeningly loud when I was there recently during the day mid-week. (And I'm not really so old.) I mentioned this to a slot attendant and she said, "Well, no one else has complained about it."

I am agreement with Tim. And with all due respect to your spouse, Sam's Town is a great place to gamble. We have not stayed there, yet. Please talk her into giving Sam's another try! We went there for the first time at the beginning of October. We loved it!

I called DTG to see if I had any offers for December and I couldn't log on to their online system. I left a message with Marty and she called me back today. She said they changed to a new card system and that there would be twenty dollars free play when I pick up my card. Four nights comped including a Saturday arrival. I sure hope they get over their schizophrenia soon.

Marty took care of me also. Sounds like is taking care of everyone at will.

Are you looking forward to your stay there? Do you plan to give most of your play to them? I hate to not give them all of my play with a 4 night comp (I have given them little to no play so far). Trying to decide between paying a low rate at Cosmo for a few nights or take the 4 night comp...

I booked two nights at 4Q and two nights at El Cortez before I got this comp. I was kind of dreading the 4Q because of noise issues on a full Saturday, I figured my low roller comp would not score a favored room. This will be my third stay at DTG. Rooms great, VP acceptable, craps game okay but only one table. So I am looking forward to two nights at the Grand, probably not four. I have also been getting Cosmo comps but I am just not interested in strip properties anymore. I like to split my stays between two properties just to mix it up. If I were you I would book Cosmo and DTG, otherwise stay at Cosmo and spend an afternoon downtown.

I was in the casino this week and the crew said the blackjack/miscellaneous tables currently in the HL room are scheduled to come back out to the casino floor Tuesday and will be next to the two craps and one roulette table on the floor. I was told the table hours start at noon during the week but the tables are open 24 hours on the weekends (noon Friday to 2 am Monday).

I received an offer code on their app. I went to book a reservation and use the offer code but it does not work. The offer code says it's good until 12/05/2015. Is that common for downtown grand?
