    What do casinos like better?
I'm thinking Drop-In Play, right? (Meaning, play when you're NOT staying on property, or within corporate network)

Or is it no different, staying on property and playing the same amount.

I'd say no different if they still offer comped nights to the new drop-in player to return? (Thinking CET)..

And speaking of the network,(Boyd in this case),Why would the Orleans give me a comped Saturday night after I only played .25 VP there for a few hours last trip, but the Gold Coast will not (My Boyd "home base')...I certainly had much more coin-in at the GC..? (I still have 3 nights at the GC but a VP tourney mid-week)..

I would think they'd like you staying there because chances are you'd give them more play if you were staying there.

    Because of drop-in play?
At GoldCoast, I assume you were staying there when you played there?
What a casino manager there told me, was I had to "Play Off" my comped rooms...so in effect, I couldn't be comped anything else, until I hit a certain Theo amount, to "pay" for the rooms I was staying in...

Yes just 'dropped in' to the Orleans one day from the GC shuttle and played all the VP bars from say 10am until 2 pm..Think I blew $200..Funny got it back within 20 minutes after arriving back at the GC..One DDB hand.
And I totally get the Play Off deal..That is my consolation when I have a bad day..The room I have costs $$$ coming in off the street so to speak and you got it comped..Try that in NYC or Chicago or Orlando..
This years trip with a buddy flying out from Phiily is RIO comped GVR comped Orleans Comped GC comped + tourney..8 nights just have to pay the resort fees now bummer.Ha

I would normally play about 6 hours a day. If I play at that level while staying at a competing property, the casino would prefer the drop in play. They are not out the $300 suite and $250 in F and B, but still have my play. The likelihood of my playing at that level while staying elsewhere would be small. I break up my play with meals, gym, pool etc, so I choose to concentrate my play where I'm staying
