    My Trip Report

I'm new to the board, but definitely not new to Las Vegas! I stayed at the Golden Nugget on this trip. I play mostly VP with some slots thrown in, and they HAD a few banks of 8/5 BP that I could play. Unfortunately, since I was there for Labor Day, they downgraded those two banks to 7/5! I still played some here and there but my time at the Golden Nugget as a VP player has ended. I prefer MSS anyway for the better VP and beer. I also get a Silver Card at MSS. I just planned this trip last minute and MSS didn't have rooms available for my entire stay due to NFR.

I had a room in the Rush Tower on the 20th floor, it was very nice. I could definitely hear the music from Freemont Street until late at night, but it was muffled so didn't bother me too much.

I was able to get a comp for a sports massage and a $250 food & beverage credit at the GN, in addition to my comped rooms and all other smaller meals were taken off the bill. I conversed with a host during my stay for the first time ever and while he did get me the comps I listed, he forgot to schedule my massage as he had promised and also put the food & beverage credit on my account at 7PM on the last night of my trip - kind of too late.

Now to the VP porn! I play mostly BP because I do not enjoy the variance of DDB. I would rather play for 8 hours without a rollercoaster ride and play more steadily receiving 10 coins for my two pair! Here are some highlights. I have many more, but didn't want to overload you with too much porn!

    Royal Flush on STP!

    Dealt SF!

    Drew two sets of Aces!

Got another Royal! This one at 50 cents. I took a video of me throwing away a pat flush and drawing the Q of spades to fill it in, but in editing the video down to a few seconds, I deleted the draw part of the video! Ugh. You can see my Royal Flush and my Marker Pale Ale - two things I enjoy the most in the world!

Dealt 4s (but where are the kickers!!!)

The Golden Nugget had a useless promo going on. On the hour for four hours, they played a horse race where you could choose from 10 horses running a race. If you picked the winning horse, you got a "share" of $250 free play. I won one of the races and got a total of $12.50 of free play. What a waste of time and effort on a promotion! $250 to split among all winners in the casino is a pittance and an embarrassment of a promotion. Plus, you can only pull out even dollar amounts in free play, so I couldn't even play the 50 cents I had left over.

Thanks for reading! I hope to provide many more TRs and VP porn for you! In the meantime, here's something to look forward to for you STP junkies!

Welcome to the board sdbravo and great report

It's interesting what you said about the Nugget promotion, I would feel the same way. It would leave me more annoyed than grateful.

Loved your VP pictures. My OH enjoys the Nugget, (both in Vegas and AC) never understood why, ha ha. (In general though, I am not a fan of downtown, other then MSS.)

Not me. Most promos I'm screwed for because I never play enough if the chances of winning is proportional to your play amount. I would have definitely liked this one. But giving away only $1000 total during the evening is a bit chintzy though, particularly for Golden Nugget. They should have done $1000 per hour.

Nice report and great STP hits! Love STP porn!

When/where did you get those 10X dealt Aces? I'm still waiting on Aces with ANY multiplier. :( GF got a 5X with Aces on Bonus in Sept. at least.

Nice hits..funny part is, I know exactly which machine at MSS that one is (with the "burned" mark in the top right corner)
Fwiw though, Fremont has 8/5 BP on STP, and I think there are 9/5 or 8/6 JoB for STP downtown somewhere.. no reason to play 6/5 BP and 7/5 JoB

The 10X dealt Aces was at my local casino, Barona. On that one, it dealt me two Aces, spun up the 10X multiplier, and then dealt two more.

But the 5X was at MSS. That one I was turned around asking for another Pale Ale and when I turned around, to my surprise, was met with that beauty!

I knew I'd be berated for the pay tables. I don't like playing the sub par stuff but this time I wanted to stay in a slightly nicer casino and see if it was worth it for the lower pay tables. My answer: no.

Golden Nugget has good restaurants and Starbucks but I want my gambling money to go farther. I play 20k-30k through per day and those extra 5 coins per FH really add up. I would return there if they had playable, non-volatile VP. Most of the multi-games are DDB or TDB, so they are banking on the fact that you will not get those As with kicker before your bankroll disappears.

I got a reply from the King of Fremont Street! After reading your reports, all I ever hear any cocktail waitress say is "Hot Towels"!
