What do you suggest downtown or the strip for a couple of mid 20 guys?? I have been to Vegas multiple times and love both for different reason my buddy only been once stayed on the strip at flamingo and we had a good time but it was march madness spent the whole trip in the sports book... Spending 3 night opening weekend for nfl where do we stay strip or downtown???? Price not a huge issue but we don't need aria or belagio little time will be spent in the room

Depends what you are going to do with your time when the NFL games are over for the day. If you want to gamble, downtown. If you like to club, the strip or close to it.

Im there the same time, but will be coming back home to watch my team on Monday night football, I would probably gamble way too much on my team opening game if I were in Vegas. Cant wait for NFL to come back, been a long time coming. We are staying at the Hilton only because my friend has a time share available. Probably want to go to Legasse in Venetian or the sports book at Ceasars.

We are more into bars then clubs so that's why I was thinking downtown.. I heard the strat has a pretty good setup for nfl game anyone know? Any recommendations for where to go downtown for party atmosphere Friday and sat night

Well dont go downtown expecting to meet a variety of mid 20's women. My recommendation is to either do a Friday night or Saturday night downtown to enjoy it - and then the rest of your stay on the strip... OR just do your whole trip on strip and take a cab downtown for the evening.

For mid 20's - you only need one night downtown to have done it all. No good sports books downtown at all. The emphasis is on better/cheaper gambling and cheaper food.

If you go on a Friday/Sat night you will need not to find anywhere to party as it will be right there on Fremont St. itself

Never spend much time at the Strat and have never heard anything about their sports book. My opinion would be to stay downtown to be close to the best bars and spend the day at Palms or LVH for NFL games. If you're downtown on the weekend, you can start the night early(7-8pm) with the live music and other attractions under the canopy... then hit Hennessey's, Insert Coins, Griffin, Vangaurd, Mob bar, etc. for the rest of the night.

I pretty much agree with this. Although the east freemont bar scene can be pretty fun for guys in their 20's.

If you're not sure, stay on the strip and visit DT as needed. I love DT, but most tourists enjoy the strip more. You'd hate to have your friend in a location he's not happy with.

If bar hopping is the most important factor – Downtown.

If a good sportsbook is more important – Strip.

For opening NFL weekend you'll need to plan your sportsbook pretty early, because getting a seat is going to be rough.

This is going to be kind of out there, but think about the M for football. Show up at 9 AM and you can probably get several seats together, as it's a big book. Also, when you get drink tickets for your bets they are good at 32 degrees bar, which means you can choose pretty much any beer you can think of, which is nice for a sports book.

It's a long way from the strip -- about a $35 cab ride. But if you split that with a few guys it's not bad, and you can spend the whole day there plus hit their awesome buffet for dinner.
