Took Allegiant and arrived late afternoon June 25. Executive Shuttle seemed to take forever to get to the Four Queens--think I'll cab it next time. Had my parents with the wife and I, and was able to upgrade them to a suite. Couldn't do it for us, but room was comped so didn't mind. Quick bite at Chicago Brew Pub, then to the casino. Found out the wife and I had $50 free slot play. We were ushered to a quick, two-minute bonus round on a slot, and I won $20 more free play, and the wife $120. So we were ahead right off the bat. Played some 9/6 progressive DDB at the bar, and hit two quads. $100 ahead, we moved over to the D, where I gave some of it back. Then to bed. June 26--After a delicious breakfast at Magnolia's, using some of the coupons we got at check-in, down to the Elco. I just can't win in that place, although I do like playing the Deuces Wild with a joker VP. Jackpot, which is four deuces with the joker kicker, pays 10,000 credits. I've never seen that variation anywhere else. Back to the D, where I sat at the Long Bar killing time. Lousy pay tables, but a nice environment, great bartender, and I hit a quad, so left ahead. Played up and down Fremont the rest of the day with nothing remarkable. June 27--The wife went downstairs as I showered, and hit four Aces at the bar for $210 (progressive on quads). Rest of the day, played and drank. Saw Mike Hammer that night at 4Q. Good show and quite entertaining for the price (two for one with the check-in coupon). June 28--Breakfast at MSS. Wife hit four threes with the kicker for $200. Then off to the Mob Museum. VERY cool place, and we enjoyed it greatly. Stopped at Mob Bar for a drink and a light lunch (chicken parm sliders are excellent). Then to the Beef Jerky store down the way. Gator, elk, bison jerky along with myriad snacks. Neat place. Then back to the 4Q, where I sat down at a nickel DDB, and turned $10 into $70 by hitting five quads in 30 mintues....very fun. Later that night cashed in our slot points (scored a sweet straw Panama hat) and off to bed. June 29--rose at 3 am for a 6 am flight (thanks Allegiant). The bird had technical difficulties, so we had to switch planes, and were two hours late getting home. No big deal--I'd rather do that than.... Great trip. Wife won about $400 and I was either ahead or behind about $50 for the trip. Hard for me to keep track. One more thing--the D was installing the Sigma Derby machine upstairs, but never could get it going while we were there. Ahhh...probably won't be back this year. Hope Vegas can keep the lights on without me.
