Downtown Grand is a great place to stay. Really nice place for downtown. Stayed there in Feb for four days. Plan to stay again soon. I have never liked playing at GN but do like to play at EC and the D. Short walk to both from the DG. Also Pizza Rock is really good...

It's on the roof and it is a shoe in for #2 best downtown with a serious chance of contending for the top spot. Odds are it will be considerably less busy than GN due to DTG having one fifth as many rooms.

Yes, we stayed at the Four Queens on our last trip last summer. I liked the casino, the bar in the front near Fremont Street and of course the Brew pub. The rooms...not so much. Especially the bathroom.

It's time for another Flusher trip report! I love them. Can't wait to read the vintage report! Stay warm! Spring is coming I hope. I can't take anymore Polar Vortex's or snow!

Just got back from the Golden Nugget and am sorry to say, disappointed! We had trouble with our safe 3 different times and had to have maintenance come up each time. (taking away from our time to gamble!) Finally, on the last time, the maintenance person said that we had to hold the safe closed until it said it was closed. Why didn't the first maintenance guy tell us? It could have caused major issues as we had to leave before 7:00am to head home. We decided to open the safe the night before since we had had problems and lo and behold, it wouldn't open.

We may have learned a hard lesson. We stayed in the Carson tower and had a room with old carpet and the bed was the worst I have ever encountered in any hotel property. It was the softest bed I've ever slept on - or not slept on.
We also didn't have enough towels in the bathroom - only one set. There were two of us in a king room. Also the bed was not properly made only a bottom sheet on the bed with a comforter thingy on top. After several days, housekeeping added another sheet. We have stayed there before, but we will opt for the Grand or The D next time, downtown.

JennJenn, you are clearly a very savvy Michigander.

For anyone staying at the GN I would recommend RUSH TOWER! It will be comparable or better than some of the new DT rooms.
