I figured it had to be a matter of time before the pendulum swung the other way.

Hope more casinos are smart enough to realize that lowering the pay tables = driving off the good play = revenue loss = smaller bottom line on the balance sheet.

I enjoyed playing here in June, and they'll definitely receive significant business from me in February. Thanks for sharing the great news!

I'm glad they got it, but honestly its like a cheating ex telling you they've mended their evil ways.....I'll always know what they have in the back of their mind. I trust them about as much as Sheldon.

I believe they only have one bank of a few machines that are decent, the rest and the bartops are still crap, if I'm wrong someone can correct me.

I'll give them a shot in December if they still offer reasonable pay tables. I'd like to think that they have upgraded the beer selection as well

Excellent. I called a Downtown Grand Host yesterday to get 2 free nights on 9/12-9/13 while I'm in town so I'm looking forward to this!

if we have never stayed there but would like to see about comped up front rooms, is that something they can do if they are looking for new customers? I'd be willing to give them a shot for a couple days if we can get comped up front. And if so, do I just call the casino and ask for a host on duty or maybe email if I can find one?

Be careful there. Some of their machines were manufactured by a company that clearly doesn't know how to make a quality machine. My last trip there I found a whole bank of brand new machines where all the hold buttons kept sticking and randomly releasing, discarding my held cards just before I would hit the draw button. As you can imagine, after the second time this happened in 2 minutes I got pissed off and left.

Pizza rock is good, but try to time your trip for happy hour. Otherwise it's a little pricey and there aren't a lot of options for a single person or couple who aren't big eaters.

    I submitted a question via the contact us form -- http://www.downtowngrand.com/contact-us.html -
selected Casino and Gaming and listed my question about free rooms. I received a free room for the off nights but they wanted money for the weekend nights. can't blame them. they had no idea who I was, but I did get a freebie.

The newest version of IGT VP machines suck too, imo. And the management disaster known as CET replaced 98% of their inventory with them nationwide...:grrr:
