My wife and I often times stay at the GN during "pool season" but have totally comped rooms at the Cal for our Late July/Early August trip. It appears that we can pay our way into the GN or DTG pools. But I'm curious about staying at the DTG also. Can anyone give me a quick summary of what the pool at the DTG is all about? We've been to the GN pool as well as the "watering hole" at the Cal and the minimal pool at the Plaza.

    Thanks!

Was just recently at DTG. Stayed there 2 nights and used the pool on a Sunday. They were having a special party that you had to pay to into, however they ended up comping our tickets. I would have been upset if I had paid as it was really lame. I did enjoy the pool area though. Get there fairly early (we got there at 11) to get loungers with an umbrella (free of charge). There is very little shade there and the cabanas don't seem worth renting. Drinks are fairly high, about the same as on strip. We didn't order food but I heard it was really good. We enjoyed our stay there and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I was there at the end of May. I went to use the pool about 5 min. after 7pm and it was closed. Next day used it around 1 pm. Not much shade. Nice looking. Help friendly. I enjoyed the pool it was not crowded so I could swim the length of it.

Thanks for the replies. I booked the GN for $69 per night Thurs and Fri. That way we can use the pool both days, and Sat too. We'll stay at the Cal Sat night and won't have time for the pool on Sunday. So for just a bit more than paying for pool access we'll have the GN room too. That was through priceline, its the only 4 star hotel DT so you know what one you're bidding on.

Why didn't the cabanas seem worth renting?
