Just when I thought the marketing department at SLS has no clue what they're doing (they still don't) along comes Downtown Grand to top them.

I got a mailer today for a free night, $125 in free slot play and $30 food credit.

This is a great offer....except...it's for new members only.

    I'm an existing customer #Oops

What DG is saying is we value new members more than our current ones.

Great job guys, this should really help an already struggling property.

I don't think there is any doubt they are struggling and trying to find more potential customers. Their marketing timing does leave a lot to be desired. My mailers usually come the 1st or 2nd of the month they are good for.

This last trip, I gave them more dollar play at the bar and I'm waiting to see if that improves my offer from $5 FP and 2 comped nights.

A casino can't send mailers to all of their non-(new) members so it says in your mailer (to someone who IS a member that the enclosed offer is for NEW members ONLY) here is an offer and it can't be used by you but only by those not receiving this offer. Is that correct?

If so this is an offer than cannot be outdone by other casinos (and if it were I wouldn't know about it unless it were Boyd related as I don't get other mailers). WoW...

That's correct, it says for new members only and it also states that the reservation has to be put under the name of the addressee meaning I can't make the reservation and have a friend take the offer on the play + dining credit.
