The canopy is enough for us, plus the weekend bands on Fremont.

My opinions are obviously biased because we are comped everything at Boyd.

I'm like Joe and like the boyd group so many of my responses are of the boyd properties.

    Favorite Breakfast place?
Usually the fremont buffet. MSS comes in a close second because they have a number of different food types (pizza in the morning too!). lately I've been trying to cut down on eating so I usually pick up a breakfast at mcd's at the D.

    Favorite place to stay downtown?
Boyd properties, namely the Cal and MSS. Lately I've been staying at the El Cortez since their rates on the travel sites are much better than everyone else. I would stay at the LVC, Plaza, 4q, and D if the price is right, heck just add in the GG, fremont and GN but the GN is never in my price range (cheap cheap).

    Favorite casino for table games?
I love to play craps at the MSS with the Fremont second
For $3 minimums I would choose the el cortez but I don't like the smoke.

    Casinos for Slots?
Can't go wrong with most of them, cal, mss, fremont, el cortez since I stay mostly at those places.

    Steakhouse?
    Flame. Redwood grille.

    Casino Bar?
I rather be playing on the tables

    Place for people watching?
the FSE, always great to see what's going on in the evenings.

    Downtown Bar (non-casino)?
    no time.

    Lunch place?
The lanai at the Cal hotel. they make great chicken wings.

    Your favorite downtown entertainment/show?
    FSE

I dont much care to fill out the questionnaire but I will tell you why I like downtown.

I can go to the ABC store and get 2 giant beers for $5 and drink them right in the middle of the street at 8 am and no one even looks at me funny.

The rest of the place is sort of like this, you can do the math.

My favorite table game is blackjack at El Cortez because of the good, single-deck odds at low limits.

I like this "test"! I am going to answer this without reading prior responses.

    1. Breakfast: either Magnolia's at 4 Queens or buffet at MSS (ask for Claudia).

    2. Hotel: Four Queens for location. MSS for calm & relaxing atmosphere.

    3. Table games: Cal. Think friendly Hawaiian players.

    4. Slots: Fremont. Purely subjective....just seem to be able to play longer.

    5. Steakhouse: One of my favorite "must do" things for each trip is to make a reservation at
Binion's Steakhouse at opening time. Get the same corner table. Quiet. I have read some negative reviews. But they sure weren't being served the prime ribs that I ate!

    6. Casino bar: 1) Sometimes I want a quiet bar with VP. Main Street Bar on left at main entrance
    to Cal.
    2) Sometimes I want to watch sports. Dave's Bar on second floor of Cal.
    In small sportsbook.

    3) Sometimes I want to see & hear the happy and excited 30's - 40's crowd.
Golden Gate bar delivers that. Particularly weekend nights.

    4) Sometimes I want a quick "free drink" while wandering. Stick a hundred into
the VP machine at the new Long Bar at D. Bartenders are fast and friendly.
    Loud!

Place for people watching: Can't beat the free concerts on Fremont Street in the evenings.

    Downtown bar ( non-casino ).

Okay. That's it. Now that I have submitted my test, I feel free to look at the prior responses.

I envy you! Have gone downtown twice in March and just loved it!

Oops. Skipped "downtown bar, non-casino". The answer is Triple George. Have been known to eat
there when the casino restaurants were crowded on weekends. Calm. Surprisingly good food and drink.
Eat at bar if you choose.

    Also skipped lunch spots:

    1. If it is swimming pool weather, I like to lunch at the Grotto (Italian) at Golden Nugget. I choose
a table facing the pool, and never worry about slow service. Haha!

    2. LeThai on Fremont East. Yum!

    3. 777 Brewpub. Lots of variety on menu, and everything that I have eaten was good.

    4. Buffet at MSS. Like to just walk in and start grazing on things I don't usually order.
Think fried chicken, collard greens, etc.

    5. Magnolia's at 4 Queens. Often order a whole muffaletta. Eat half there, then take the other half
to my room for a later snack.

    6. Triple George has a nice lunch menu (about $10). Quiet. Upscale, but not intimidating.

Inspiring! I'm staying DT in March. I'm definitely planning to do the "Two giant beers in the middle of the street at 8 am" trick.

Binions snackbar for their chili dogs and hamburgers, a must have about 2 in the morning!

Best slot, easily the 4 queens, but I love to play almost everywhere!

Best meal for a reasonable price, too many to say but I really love the Triple 7 brew pub at MSS, make sure you get the steak nacho dip for an appetizer. Its like a full meal!

Giant drinks at La Bayou, refills at Golden Gate!

Breakfast at Hash House a go go and Dupars, get the Pancakes they are amazing!
