Going to be in Vegas for about 10 days and would like to spend a couple days at a hotel on Freemont Street. What are the top places to stay besides the Golden Nugget? Also where can one find the best BJ games downtown? Thanks.

Golden Nugget by far has the best amenities of any downtown propert. However, I liked the 4 Queens and my buddy (who visited Vegas last year) said the Plaza was great (it's newly rennovated).

BJ -- UGH! Over the summer I liked the shoe game at the shoe game at the Golden Gate (do not play the continuous shuffle shoes). Since deck penetration is weak (they only go through about 1/2 the decks or shoes), I switched to craps. Now I only play BJ to relax.

El Cortez has the best blackjack on Fremont St.

The El Co has the best rules, with both single and double-deck games at low limits...

However, there are a lot of two-deck games available at $5 & $10 minimums at the 3 Boyd properties - but you will give up DAS.

The shoe & CSM games at Golden Gate & theD are decent, with both DAS and surrender... beware of the GN 'party-pit' - the so-called "blackjack" is 6:5!

The girls are just as 'hot' at Golden Gate, only with far-better rules... and, in my opinion, better drinks & drink-service too.

Plaza has a two-deck shoe that allows DAS, so that's worth a shot... but it's a weird vibe in there, so I don't know how much fun it would be for y'all... I left after 10 minutes of head-to-head play, simply because I was uncomfortable.

    Good luck & have fun!

The best DD game DT is in the high limit room at the GG. 3/2, DAS and Surrender, and great penetration. And you can get whatever drink you want, even top shelf.

    A two-deck game? With surrender?

Do they still have this? At $25?

If so, that may be my new favorite blackjack game downtown!

I was Down Town last month. I see a big difference on the week days vs. the weekends. I like the Cal and Golden Nugget the Best. The Elcortez has the best game in town as far as $ and game in general. The down side is that the Elcortez is very smokey. No problem if your a smoker. For atmosphere (litterally) the Golden Nugget is best. The Cal is very low key (Aloha spirit). If you want a show with your game the girls dealing at Golden Gate are nice. Well okay they are very hot. Cocktail service at the Gate is very good also.:drunk:
The Plaza is newly remodeled but I haven't played there. The Vegas club has low minimums also.
