We have an offer that includes free concert tickets but we prefer to stay at a different casino. If we check into the concert casino, use our key and put the do not disturb sign on the door, the staff (housekeeping) is prohibited from entering the room, right?
So as along as we check in and check out and use the key at least once, we should be OK?
We will do some playing at the casino offering the tickets.

I just double booked to take advantage of Mariah tickets, and we used the second room for pit stops. What exactly are you concerned about? I don't think double booking is frowned upon.

    why even bother?

    they don't care.

if you're not going to use the room just never even go up there.

I do it all the time.

Agreed....no need to use the key!

You play will be checked at the end of your stay, regardless if you use the room. Up to you how you play...now or low play them and future offers MAY be affected!

I do this. mostly to see if there is any free water in the room to grab :)
and.. if they replenish said free water, I wont put the DND sign on. I'll use it for daily water intake ;)

I am assuming they are in different ownership groups. I know you cannot book two Mlife offers at the same time. Can your bankroll handle playing at both properties? As others have stated you will need to play your normal level at both places or your future offers will be affected.

I figured they would frown upon booking a room, getting your comps and then not using it. As far as play, we don't play a whole lot at this property but we get offers anyway. So I guess if we play the same amount as usual, it shouldn't affect future offers?

Yes, but if you don't put any play in at that casino, it'll probably be the last comp you get.

My buddy kept encouraging me to "double book" at Wynn and V/P. I told him that I would only do so when it would be the last time for a few years that I would want/need comps at either of those two places.

It doesn't take much to "get" comps, but I'm not sure what it takes to get back on the "good list" once you burn them.

    once, not much.

twice and you'll have issues getting much upfront from your host next time you call.

what do they care what you do with the room?

they want your butt in a seat at the casino.

    24 hours a day preferably.

Yup. I have checked into rooms I never set foot in and nobody cares. I've also checked into rooms, put my suitcase down, used the toilet, and return to collect my bags in the morning before departing. My own personal luggage storage space while playing all night.

I double booked this last trip at Mandalay Bay and Caesars. Wasn't planning on sleeping at Caesars, but after getting buried twice at Mandalay Bay I moved my operation to Caesars. I have booked 3 rooms before.....I like having the flexibility and to play where I'm "hot" and it's free so why not?

I'm doing this my next trip for some friends. But, there might be 1 place that we don't use. What do y'all do with the room keys? Or do you have a nice display at home with them all?

I tend to collect room keys on purpose. The ones that change based on special events are the ones I really like. Just got one from PHO with Britney Spears on it and I have one from there with the "21" movie logo on it as well.

I have more than enough players club cards w/o collecting room keys
In the case of the casino offering the concert tickets, they charge $30 a night to your CC and refund it when you check out. So I think to be safe, I'd check in and check out at the front desk.
