Hello, does north strip suck? I did a bunch of googling on vegas last night and I get the impression that there's not much action on the north strip and it's not the hotspot or place to be. If you're a north strip fan then what do you like about it? What kind of people/personalities does north strip tend to attract?

It depends on what you are looking for. The last 2 mega properties wynncore and Venetian. You can stay in those hotels for a whole trip. Wynn is quite classy but also has a few big clubs.

Middle strip you can walk to many properties, but not all of them are as nice as Wynn or Venetian

There is a void between north strip and downtown.

I'd be just as happy at Wynn vs Cosmo vs aria.

It depends on what you mean by north strip. I you are talking about the location between Venetian and Encore its probably the most luxurious part of the strip with some of the best nightclubs, bars, restaurants, shopping etc. If you go a little furher north i say its pretty much the oppsite once you hit Circus Circus and the Riviera. Also SLS is now open even furher down the strip.

same question, where is north strip to. North of SLS to downtown not much, some downtown. SLS is changing that area, sort of and a great place to go. south of SLS to Encore there is nothing till resort world opens.

It depends on the property and what you're looking for. Wynn/Encore are your typical high end full service casinos. SLS isn't bad either, but it's pretty small. Circus Circus and the Rivera don't have much going for them other than cheap rooms, gambling and drinks (especially at the Riviera's main bar). The Stratosphere is worth checking out for the tower, it would be a lot more popular if it wasn't in no mans land.

The walk between Wynn/Encore and the Stratosphere is definitely a little sketchy in certain areas. My last trip to Vegas I saw a homeless guy over by the Riviera collecting shards of glass and tossing them into a large pile in the middle of the road. He was obviously trying to pop peoples tires.
